It's possible that the Mike Wallace DNQ the The Great Dave listed was meant to go to Ken Wallace, Jr., who had the #40 T.G.I. Friday's Chevrolet. Of course, it's not actually known if Ken Wallace, Jr. did attempt this race, but that's my best guess as to why Mike Wallace had erroneously been listed as failing to qualify for this race, whereas he actually did in fact make this race, qualifying 22nd and finishing 10th. 16. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 12.22.2016 - 1:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Just an error in the Dave's list. For info Joe Bessey was also the #9 in the entry list but due to NASCAR rule book (owner standings) the number was changed from 9 to 97 for the race. No duplicate number to facilitate the work of the scorers. 17. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 12.22.2016 - 7:29 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) But since the beginning of the season Joe Bessey use the #97 for the BGN championship. The entry list available with the race program are often fanciful and not official with the mention "probable entry". 18. They must've mysteriously entered the race somewhere out of sight, likely along one of the more remote sections of the race course, and subbed in for Scott Lagasse & Ernie Irvan, who had dropped out of the race by this point (Beebe DNQ'd; Brown didn't attempt this race, I believe). 21. That's spread out over the entire history of the series from 1982 on. 1992 and 1993 were the only 2 years where Bill ran a significant amount of Busch races. I'd guess that Bill likely won Sportsman races before it was formed into the Budweiser/Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity Series for the 1982 season. 22. Crew Chief: David McGehee for 1993 The 2 races Bobby Labonte ran in Busch in 93 in the #14 car, Owner:Terry Labonte Crew Chief for the #14 team: Bob Labonte Source: Go to the Video Tab, 4th and final video listed, go to 21:35 Heard it in several races the entire seasons but looked for a perfect source. Them just joking earlier in the year about if Bobby while driving the 14 will pass the 44 car that he owns, or them talking about Bobby hiring David Green on the crew of his team in 92 then hiring him to take over as the driver wasn't going to cut it. 23. jensenators posted: 12.02.2019 - 3:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Update based on youtube: Crew Chief: Car 44- David Mcgehee (Interviewed pre-race) Car 4- Jay Smith. Burton's first win in a Thunderbird had ironically come in the race right before this one. 25.
