Stefanik would miss the next race at Rockingham the following week, but returned at Richmond. 2. J. This was not his final start, but this was his last win and his seventh at Daytona. 3. As mentioned earlier, Stefanik was involved in a big crash, several other cars were involved. The first two cars, #75 and #0, crashed into the wall and slid down as others piled in, this was in turn 2. #33 crashed as the leaders were starting to pit coming out of turn 4. The cameras didn't catch it, but he was turned by a white car as the field was slowing down. Later on, caution came out for rain as the #20 had mechanical troubles around the same time. On the final lap, #3 passed #14 for the win. 5. RaceFanX posted: 02.12.2008 - 9:51 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bill Elliott makes his last appearence in the Busch Series for over 10 years 6. Chad Little only drove in 1 cup race in '94. Not all the top ten were Cup Drivers. 10. The team's first race saw the new #43 Pontiac adorned with one of the most bizarre paint schemes in NASCAR history, a split design with left side of the car painted in the yellow-and-red of French's Mustard and the right side painted in the black-and-red of Blag Flag bug spray. French's and Black Flag were splitting the sponsorship race to race in 1994 but for the opener they were both on the car. A split down the middle paint job like that is flat out against the rules now. Weird combo, Mike McLaughlin would run a similar design in 1995 at Talladega. IIRC Combs' unusual look was the result of the paint scheme the team painted a show car in when the new team and its sponsorships were first announced. The show car was given a split scheme to show off the paint jobs that both sponsors would use and the unusual look proved so popular they decided to race it at Daytona. In other Petty news this was Kyle Petty's first Busch race working on the ESPN broadcast. He'd become a staple of NASCAR broadcasting when not racing throughout the years to come. This was the Busch Series' last race at Daytona with its V6 engines before the V8s arrived in 1995. 24. This race marked the beginning of his partnership with owner Fil Martocci, replacing Winston Cup-bound Jeff Burton in the #8 Ford, with their first race together netting them a top-10. Wallace's tenure with the FILMAR team would only include one full season in Busch before the team started moving up the ladder, running a split Busch and Cup campaign in 1995 before going full-time in Cup in 1996. The pair remained together until the end of the 1998 season when the team was sold off after Wallace's departure. 29. grissom fan posted: 11.01.2017 - 10:32 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @ #19 Paul, I'd hoped to have seen the cars via the links you provided, but no luck....sorry, please help further, if possible; it seems like you need an account to view. During that race broadcast on TNN they showed the car on camera and Mike Joy pointed out that the scheme you were looking at on that car was not the paint scheme that car would be running in the 94 Busch season. They would run both schemes and the split scheme was just so everybody would be able to see what each will look like. The funny thing is, after he said that, I can't remember if it was Neil Bonnett or Buddy Baker that said something along the lines of "Thank goodness, I wasn't going to say anything but I thought that was the ugliest paint scheme ever". Then all three started laughing about it and said one or the other will look good but not both. After watching that and now seeing they actually did run that split scheme in the first race anyway is hilarious. 36. And the double fake that Earnhardt put on Labonte on the last lap >>>>>>> I remember watching it live and it didn't look like Earnhardt had a chance at the race, but Elliott blew up and Irvan for some reason lost the draft and then he set up Labonte nicely just getting to his inside before turn 3. 38.
