He'd DNQ the next race. 2. SK posted: 11.24.2007 - 6:18 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Stevie Reeves makes his debut in Busch Grand National racing. 3. The announcers gave a heartwarming tribute to Neil at the start of the broadcast including reading a letter from a fan in New York. On the track David Bonnett's first race since the accident saw him finish in the top-20. 6. We send our condolences" This was back before there was Twitter, or Instant Message systems or Social Networks. 7. When this race was run, I was a few years from being a viewer, but I know some of the names. How things have changed since that time. It seems Busch was once the official beer of NASCAR. And what made DW change, as comment 6 alludes to? Did getting older affect his brain? 10. Not surprisingly for North Carolina in February, it was very cold. The temperature at race time was only 43 degrees and it was incredibly windy, so wind chills were actually in the mid-30s. The skies weren't a problem, though, as Mike Joy described them as "Petty Blue". I had a blast watching Harry Gant and his bright green Manheim Auctions Chevrolet in the Busch Series in 1994! 11. Patty Moise was the first, also qualifying 2nd at Road Atlanta in 1987. Shawna would actually win a pole later in the 94 season. 12. It was mentioned by Larry McReynolds on the 1995 race broadcast, thus it should be noted here. 13.
