When Bonnett died, the sponsorship deals sort of fell apart as Parker was really selling whatever sponsorship they would have gotten based on Bonnett driving as well. Parker sort of lost interest too once Neil died. 9. RaceFanX posted: 09.09.2015 - 8:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I thought I would check. No wonder Hank Parker, Jr. and Billy Parker caught the racing bug. To link up Hank Parker here's his personal info... Born: March 26, 1953 Home: Maiden, North Carolina Was Hank's #03 team the same one he owned that ran Chevys later in the year with David Bonnett at the wheel? Would seem to fit given Parker's association with that Delco Voyager boats that sponsored him. 10. nascarman posted: 09.09.2015 - 9:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) It MIGHT be the same car. From what I read, Parker announced he bought Darrell Waltrip's Busch team at Talladega in April so he may not have been the owner now. Hank Jr wanted to get into racing and this was a way for Hank Sr to get the team going by the time Jr. was ready (although Parker Sr. had done some racing before as well.) Neil was scheduled to run 10 races that year and David Bonnett would drive some as well. I believe I read that Hank Parker failed to qualify at Rockingham in February as well, but that would need to be checked. 11. This was the first fourth of his 11 victories in this series. 15. Then while trying to save it, he hit the gas and cranked the wheel to the right and that caused him to shoot into the back of Hermie and spin him. Jason Keller did hit the brakes and lessened the impact, just couldn't see him until it was too late. Racing accident, nobody's fault really. 16.
