Ricky Craven before his concussion and injuries had a real chance to be
great, he drove the Larry Hedrick ride and suffered that huge Talladega
crash and then he got a good ride with Hendrick and suffered a
concussion and he came on late in his career because he won in Tide 32
car and the closest finish ever in a race will always be etched in his
memories. Craven's class throughout the adversity that he had to face
early in his career says a lot about the guy.

Kenny Wallace started first and Ken Wallace started last. This has to be
the only time that drivers with the same name bookended the field.

Elton Sawyer bounces back from his DNQ in the prior race at NHIS to come
oh so close to finally picking up his elusive first Busch series win.
Thankfully Sawyer wouldn't have wait much longer to get that
breakthrough win.

Ricky Craven crew chief: John Monsam

Doug Heveron pulled a Dale Jarrett during the 3rd caution. He got out of
his car and stood in the middle of the track with his helmet off until
Ronald Cooper came around and he threw it as hard as he could at point
blank range at the side of that car.

The commentators were Mike Joy and Buddy Baker. The pit road reporters
were Glenn Jarrett and Ralph Sheheen.
