Dale Earnhardt finishes third in his penultimate start in the Busch
series, the 65th top-5 and 75th top-10 in the series for its first-ever
race winner. This would turn out to be the Intimidator's last real
hurrah in the series, he blew an engine quick and finished last in his
final race in the series the following month at Charlotte.

Per the broadcast of the following weeks Busch race at Dover. Harry Gant
DNQ'd this race with the very same car that he took to Dover the
following week and won the pole and finished 2nd with.
