He didn't get to run any practice laps because of the rainy weekend. He hadn't been in a racecar since September. The back end of the field was set by when Nascar received the entry blanks. Randy made sure to thank his wife for sending in the entry blank as early as she did, otherwise he would not have raced. He finished 10th. Car #23 of Chad Little had Bayer on the car. Car #55 had nothing on the hood, and Little Joe's on the rear panel. 12. He should've finished 4th or 5th and ended up getting wrecked because he was racing Phil Parsons and I believe Jason Keller for 4th, 5th and 6th and coming around turn 4 on the final lap and the lap car of Jerry Foyt, 30 laps down got in the way and Parsons wrecked with Foyt and spun around and hit Randy Porter and Porters car smacked the wall head on, spun around and stopped 10 feet short of the start finish line for a DNF instead of a top 5. Darrell Waltrip, Buddy Baker and Mike Joy were so sad for him. Waltrip said, Oh, man, that kid ran his heart out. 13.
