In his absence the team recruited Joe Bessey to drive the blue T-Bird instead and he brought it home with a top-10 run. Bessey meanwhile brought in open wheel racer Rob Wilson to race his own #9 Chevrolet with his Busch series debut netting him a 15th-place finish that would prove to be his best in the series. 11.
