Johnny Rumley won the week before and at Charlotte he barely makes it in. If they only started 43 he would of been home. 3. He had an extended pit stop and it was repaired but by the time he got back on the track any chance of a good finish was gone. This ended up being Leslie's last race in Ron Parker's Detroit Gasket #72 Chevrolet, ending a full-time partnership that went back to 1991 in Busch competition. Parker and Leslie worked together on a second car in the last two races before going their separate ways; Parker brought in Cup racer Todd Bodine to take over the #72 and it would soon pay a dividend. Michael Waltrip had a fast car entered for this one but didn't get it in the field, he crashed hard and wiped it out in qualifying. 11. His Cheerwine special gained a Unifirst logo on its hood for this race. 12.
