Mark Martin's 2nd of six Busch wins in 1996, a year he oddly went
winless in Cup

Last race for Don Beverley's team, despite a win at Dover the year
before sponsor woes put an early end to the season for his #25 Chevy and
driver Johnny Rumley.

Todd Bodine had reason to celebrate with this one despite his rough luck
the week before at Nashville. Cape Canaveral Cruises came aboard to
sponsor his Ron Neal #81 Chevrolet team full-time starting with this
event and remained with the team throughout the rest of the 1996 season.

Mark Martins 22nd career Busch Series win, which at the time moved him
out of a 3 way tie with Dale Earnhardt and Harry Gant for 5th, and into
a 3 way tie with Sam Ard and Tommy Ellis for 3rd on the Series all time
wins list.

Lonnie Rush, Jr.'s DNQ proved to be the end of his tenure in Bill
Elliott's #94 New Holland Tractors Ford. Rush lost his ride as Elliott
opted to move Ron Barfield, Jr. up from the Truck series to take wheel
after some good runs on that tour. Rush never got another shot at the
Busch series but would have modest success after moving down into the
Trucks and later the short track ranks.
