It's always nice to see a journey have a day where they can just go and dominate. 2. tonyfan20 posted: 06.19.2006 - 10:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (14) He just got lucky. 3. Jarrett raced him like a gentleman and didn't put a bumper to Fuller even though he had the opportunity to. 7. He deserved it 10. 1995z71 posted: 05.22.2012 - 9:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "The only win for JTG Racing/ST Motorsports so far." -Darrell JTG Racing would have to wait over 12 years to pick up their second win in 2008 (a year after Darrell's post) with Marcos Ambrose at Watkins Glen. 11. Jeff won the Busch series Rookie of the Year title in 1995 but seemed snakebite in 1996 with three DNQs and two less top-10s than the year before but he was man to beat on this night and took advantage. 12. Short tracks were always his strength, so it's an odd one for him to miss. 15. As he was driving back to the pits, the tire pulled the oil plug off the oiler cooler, emptying it. Todd himself got out of the car and went to look for a fire extinguisher. Upon finding one in the bed of a pick-up he found it to be locked up. Todd would eventually get back in the race. 20. Jarrett raced him clean, getting up alongside Fuller on the penultimate lap but backing off rather than trying to wreck a Busch series regular for a win. Terry Labonte's #5 Bayer Chevrolet he raced in this one was the team's road course car, coming to the track fresh off a win two months earlier at Watkins Glen. Since Bristol is always a car breaker the team decided to bring the car they needed the least for the future and entered their road course car since there were none left on the schedule this season. While it was out of its element this race-winning #5 was still fast and Texas Terry led a nice bit of the race before finishing in the top-10. Ricky Craven's #2 Chevrolet in this one appeared to be an old Lumina, rare to see Cup guy running an outdated model, and he had a one-off sponsorship from Interific with a black livery to accompany it instant of his usual blue DuPont one. Craven started midpack but had the Lumina running well against the newer equipment as he drove up into the top-5 before he had a few incidents. In one he spun out Tim Fedewa while they were racing for third. His night ended in a crash when the right front wheel broke off while he was running second to Terry Labonte, he ended up going into the outside wall while the tire ended up being hit by Randy LaJoie and causing serious damage, including a busted radiator, to the #74. LaJoie was second in points but only made a few more laps before parking it after the Craven wreck. With points leader David Green finishing 11th LaJoie lost 54 points to him in the title battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
