Maybe I'm confusing cars though. 2. Dodge posted: 02.17.2008 - 11:49 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yes, this race was run on sunday because of a hurricane. 3. According to Bob Jenkins during the Cup race it was delayed because of a power outage. 7. This was the penultimate Busch victory of his career and it would be more than five years before Kenny headed back to victory lane. Five of Wallace's nine Busch wins came in the FILMAR #8 Ford. 1996 was the third year in a row Wallace won a Busch race at Richmond. 9. Points leader David Green and his Caterpillar-backed Buz McCall team announced in the lead up to this race that they would be moving up to Winston Cup together for 1997. They went out and finished an impressive second here but that move to Cup ended up ill advised. It indeed was Hurricane Fran that postponed this race from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. ESPN still aired this race live as part of a doubleheader with the CART season finale at Laguna Seca...the one where Alex Zanardi would famously bonzai Bryan Herta for the win on the last lap. 13.
