That company sponsors the #84 driven by David Gilliland (who MAY drive for Robert Yates in 2007), who won at Kentucky. 4. It was founded in the UK by the same guy that co-founded The Hard Rock Cafe. 5. RaceFanX posted: 08.18.2011 - 6:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bessey's #92 was because he was either running the race as a one-off for Mac Martin (who had fielded Larry Pearson in the #92 most of the year) or more likely because he cut a deal with Martin to run the number for his owner points to help get him in the field (although it didn't work because of the Hooligan). The Busch series regulars won 13 races 22. RaceFanX posted: 01.09.2018 - 2:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jeff Neal's one-off proved to be the last race as a NASCAR sponsor for the Cape Canaveral Cruise Line. While it came aboard with car owner Ron Neal's #81 for most of the season and Todd Bodine won in their colors at South Boston it did not return to the sport in 1997. This NASCAR sponsorship might be the most memorable thing about Cape Canaveral Cruises, the company is otherwise so obscure it doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. From what I've been able to piece together they were a one-ship, borderline "fly by night" operation that got its start as a side offering from a group that was focused on selling time shares until it unexpectedly found a mild niche for cruises departing from Central Florida. If the company had any success it didn't last and they were out of business by 2000. 23. psugorilla posted: 01.18.2018 - 1:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Akins Ford was the sponsor on Elton Sawyers car. RaceFanX posted: 04.07.2018 - 10:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kevin Lapage and the David Ridling-owned #88 Chevrolet team ended 1996 with new colors as they swapped out the green, white, and yellow Farmer's Choice Fertilizer scheme they had run all season for the smooth black, neon yellow, and colored stripes look of their new full-time sponsor for 1997 Hype energy drinks. The new look immediately landed in victory lane kicking off what looked like a good relationship...although despite this highlight it would ultimately fall apart the following season. Given how much both Lapage, who started the season unsponsored in a self-owned entry, and the Ridling team, who started the season struggling with the late rookie Pete Orr (R.I.P.) driving before they brought in Lapage, a win was a much needed capper that showed just how far the team had come. Lapage's victory here in the season finale vaulted him from 12th to a career-best 8th in the season's final standings. 25. Not saying today's playoff system is devoid of effectiveness, but it is severely flawed. 26.
