He was replaced by the recently fired from his Cup ride Robert Pressley 3. 44andJoe posted: 12.24.2012 - 3:58 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ed Spencer III DNQ'd in the #20 Spencer Motor Ventures Chevrolet (owner: Jimmy Spencer) 4. While this was her only start of 1997 (she DNQed at the Glen) her Pure Silk sponsorship extended beyond this race to include a television commercial featuring her, the Pure Silk car, and Sawyer with his Barbasol entry. Sadly Moise's day ended very quickly when she was collected in a multi-car crash in the opening laps. The wreck was triggered when Jeff Krogh spun in traffic after bumping Glenn Allen, Jr. Dennis Setzer was also involved as he spun to avoid the wreck. 6. Jeff was promoted to the #29 Cup team, also owned by Diamond Ridge. They interviewed Bill Ingle, the 29 Winston Cup team manager, and he said Jeff Green really wanted to do both and try and win the Busch Championship but they told him no. I have a feeling it mostly had to do with the #8 car not having a sponsor still because he mentioned that but it was really weird to hear him say the idea of having more than one Busch team was never to try and win a championship anyway was strange. That couldn't have made the guys that worked hard on the #8 team that lost their job feel good, not to mention the two other teams they owned (#29, #1) that were still competing in the Busch Series. 8. I think of Kevin Harvick continuing to run the Busch Series after he was promoted to the #29, as well as Carl Edwards doing the same thing in the Truck Series. 9. Sadler took a provisional to make the race with his backup car and still managed to salvage a 14th place run for the weekend. 10. The Morgan-McClure racer did a one-off in James Finch's entry, which spent much of 1997 as a revolving door for drivers, but started at the back and was well down the running order before falling out. 11.
