I just wish he had the same success later in his career. 3. However, he is not listed, and Rick Fuller is listed in the #40 sponsored by KFC. I'm assuming Kenny didn't qualify, but I can't find any proof of that...or maybe there was another reason he wasn't in this race. Any info would be appreciated. http://www.theautochannel.com/news/date/19970802/news004939.html 4. most posted: 10.29.2006 - 8:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I have the race on tape, the KFC deal was for Darrell Waltrip racing (Rich Bickle ran the KFC car in the WC race at Indy) and Fuller was in the car. Not sure about Kenny but I know that it would have been a long shot for Kenny to drive for Waltrip as tight as his Yates contract was. Not sure but hope it helps a little 5. I think Yates was also involved with it. I think Irwin hit the wall in qualifying and missed the race. 6. Despite driving a Ford on the Truck Series, Irwin entered more than one Busch race with a #98 Chevy in 1997 but was unable to qualify for any of them 8. His back to back wins here at IRP made him the first NASCAR Busch/Xfinity Series driver to win at this track more than once in more than a decade. Morgan Shepherd won here three times in the 1980s (1982, 1984, and 1988) but until the early 2000s Buschwacking epidemic this tended to be a race where a wide variety of different Busch Series regulars would get a chance to shine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
