Labonte went on to finally win another Busch race at Talladega in 2007.

DNQ driver teams:
Ron Barfield, Jr.- #2 New Holland (Ricky Craven) Chevrolet (also the
same combo all his other DNQs in 1998)
Patty Moise- #14 Rhodes Furniture (Michael Waltrip) Ford (again same car
for all her 1998 DNQs)
Jimmy Foster- #50 Dr. Pepper (Joe Washington) Ford
Dave Blaney- #93 Amoco (Bill Davis) Pontiac (same car as his DNQ that
year at MIS)
Jeff Fuller- ?
Mike Stefanik- #96 Big A Auto Parts (Mike Curb) Pontiac (Same car as his
DNQ the race before at Nashville, looks like he lost his ride after this
DNQ)

First Busch/Nationwide Series win for Joe Gibbs Racing. Also it is the
only win for JGR in a car not numbered 18 and 20 in the series.

Rusty on Comment 4- That was until Kyle Busch in the #54 Joe Gibbs
Racing Toyota at Phoenix. He has won 3 of 5 so far.

Jason Jarrett somehow manages to avoid FOUR different accidents to
finish a lap down in 20th.

Phil Parsons was his own crew chief for this race too. His crew chief
Gene Nead got into an altercation the day before this race in the garage
area with Blaise Alexander's crew and was suspended by Nascar.

Dr. Jerry Punch, Benny Parsons and Kyle Petty were the commentators.
Bill Weber and Ray Dunlap were the pit road reporters.
