If he was I would of thought it would be the # 12 since that is what Jimmy drove. Ed may of owned his own team or drove for Nemechek. 6. Also becomes the first two-time winner at the track, as well as first and only to win in two different makes (his first in a Ford, this a Chevrolet). 9. Kevin Grubb's car was owned by Bob Sutton 10. This was Fedewa's first win at the wheel of the BACE Motorsports Kleenex #33 Chevrolet, the team formed with his arrival the year before. 13. 23andJoe posted: 03.04.2014 - 3:18 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #47 crew chief: Butch Enders (same through Race #22) 14. Does seem strange, these days you would lease the number to another team if you weren't running to get your owners points but back then the owner's title was never mentioned and the driver's champion always won the owner's title as well so it didn't matter. Cup drivers weren't able to get provisionals back then either and running each race wasn't mandatory to lock your team into an event (no top-35 rule back then or top-30 rule for Busch). I also know that sponsorship was usually a tough sell for Nazareth for some reason, much like it is for Pocono races today so maybe the sponsor just didn't agree to that event. Gibbs has never been shy about pulling a car out for a race or two if the money wasn't there. 17. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was running away with it in the early part of the race. During a caution the field was getting set to pit, and the pit road lights turned green after Earnhardt passed the entrance. He cut across so as not to wait a lap to pit and was subsequently penalized for an improper entry to pit lane. About 20 laps later he was caught in a multi-car wreck that effectively ended his race. 19. During The Winston broadcast right before the start of The Winston Open, they promo'd the following day's Busch race by making a big deal about Dale Jr being on the pole and Ron Hornaday Jr starting on the front row beside him in 2nd and how both drive for Dale Sr. Hornaday had to have qualified 2nd and then had to go to the back for some reason or the other. 20. Later in the season at Milwaukee Elton Sawyer won the pole and it was later disallowed and he had to start last for using illegal fuel. They said during the broadcast it wasn't the first time it happened this season, that the same thing happened to Ron Hornaday at Nazareth in the 59 car. 21. Hopefully someone out there has it an can upload this and the myrtle beach race from 98. 23. simkon posted: 09.15.2020 - 7:47 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #22 This race was televised on ESPN, the length of the coverage is about an hour. Without having the race handy I can't say for sure if it was live, tape-delayed or weather delayed. But I would guess the race was tape delayed and condensed to fit so as not to conflict with ESPN's other obligations that weekend. I have this race on DVD but it is at my other residence, at any rate, I don't upload races on Youtube or online so as not to have any issues with copyright claims. 24. Onion posted: 09.22.2020 - 7:47 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) You definitely should upload this one. It's extremely rare and one of the only two Busch/Nationwide races since 1994 to never have been up on Youtube. The worst thing that can happen is the uploading account gets shut down. And even that is highly unlikely, NASCAR doesn't seem to care much about uploading old races. 25. This completes the entire Busch Series since full live broadcast began in 1994. Although some races (6 of them to be exact) are unavailable right now because of people like Jay Coker, at one point every single one of them had been up on Youtube, so they all exist in their entirety and people who are willing to be lovely enough to share have them. 26.
