He went on to back up that strong qualifying run with the best finish of his career, fourth. I can also recall in his pre-race interview he mentioned that he and his team had decided not to race the two previous races at Charlotte and Dover so that they could better prepare for the Richmond race, as they obvious wanted to have a strong run at their home track. 4. gary24fan posted: 10.15.2011 - 12:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Car #'s for the DNQ's: Dale Jarrett - 32 Mike Olsen - 61 Mike Laughlin, Jr. - 45 Joey McCarthy - 41 Patty Moise - 14 Derrike Cope - 92 Ted Christopher - 13 Blaise Alexander - 20 J.D. I recall everyone around me yelling "Go Dale Jr!!!" near the end of the race, and also that Jeff Burton won. Also remember that I lost my ticket for the race at some point in the day and my friends dad looked very irritated as he had to buy me another. Had a great time there and beforehand knew next to nothing about the Busch Series but started watching it after. I also was amazed by how brightly colored the cars were under the lights. I was a teenager and only a couple years removed from when I used to be a really big wrestling fan as a kid and another memory from the race was looking down and thinking wow, there's a car in this race that is a WCW car. 9.
