The commentators for the race were Jerry Punch and Benny Parsons. The
pit road reporters were Ray Dunlap and Bill Weber.

Driver Change: #44 Jack Sprague

Jack Sprague was set to drive the 44 for Joe Gibbs in this race but
crashed the primary car in practice on Friday, hurting his ribs. JD
Gibbs flew out to take over the qualifying and racing duties, ending the
short time Jack Sprague worked for Hendrick and Gibbs at the same time.
Jerry Punch wrapped Sprague's ribs up and he went out the next day and
still won the Truck Series race.
