Mike Mclaughlin also had a pretty large fire in his car that came up through the shifter and into the cockpit. With the shifter on fire, Mclaughlin still drove it back to the pits to be attended to. He was very lucky not to burn his hands. 3. Gibbs The DNQs listed 44th and 48th through 52nd are in their correct positions. ESPN's telecast of the race said 53 cars tried to qualify for the race, so the #42 car of J.D. Gibbs was one that didn't qualify. J.D. Gibbs may not have attempted to qualify, but since his team seemed to have entered this race, NASCAR appeared to have given the #42 car owners points after the race. 12. Two old xfinity races and this one has 5 guys who are current or nominated to NASCAR HAll of fame not to mention 10 of the drivers in this race would in the Cup Series one time some at Richmond makes sense this they would have been racing in Richmond this weekend, but will get Virtual. Yes they are replaying a old race from Talladega 11 years ago not too old to me next week so there getting the races from tracks who were effected by the virus. Or most of them at least but funny thing both these races aired on ESPN fox did not get NAscar until 3 years later. 17. Anonymous posted: 04.17.2020 - 7:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) One more fact 29 of these drivers did win once in xfinty once in there careers thats impressive, nearly have those names won in 1998 once at least, but sadly 3 of the drivers are no longer with us. 18. Anonymous posted: 04.17.2020 - 9:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I did not mention this fact of the Top 15 from this race just one Glenn Allen Jr., 9th place never won in the Xfinity Series. 19. RaceFanX posted: 04.18.2020 - 12:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mark Martin is not a guy to lose his cool easily but he sure wasn't pleased in this one after the lapped car of Ed Berrier got into him while he was running in the top-5 and it sent Martin's #60 spinning into some hard contact with the outside wall. As Barrier came around under caution Martin walked up the track to give him a "what were you thinking" style arm gesture. 20. RaceFanX posted: 04.18.2020 - 1:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dale Earnhardt, Jr. dominated this race en route to his sixth win of the season. Little E led almost flag to flag with Tracy Leslie staying out under a caution to get the top spot and becoming the only other driver to be out front all night in the process. The #3 ACDelco Chevrolet Earnhardt, Jr. won this race driving was the exact same car Steve Park won this race one year earlier. Earnhardt's title rival Matt Kenseth slapped the wall hard on the backstretch with 11 laps to go and hurt the #17 Lycos Chevrolet in the process as he showed the pursuing Jeff Burton and his #9 Track Gear Ford with sparks. Kenseth still held on for a top-5, minimizing any possible gain in the points standings for Earnhardt. Tony Stewart's night ended here in a trip into the outside wall after one of his tires came off its rim. He'd return to Richmond in 1999 and score his first Cup win on this track exactly one year to day later. 21. Jimnsimforever posted: 04.25.2020 - 10:12 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Starting position correction: #37 Mark Green started 39th Mike Dillon and Mark Green both had their qualifying times disallowed because of not having the correct fuel and had to take provisionals. As mentioned above, they were using unleaded fuel for this race. Jimmy Spencer went to Dover to test, so he had Steve Grissom qualify his car for him. Likely due to 53 cars showing up to qualify and Grissom would be able to use a past champions provisional if he didn't make it in on time. Good thing he did because Randy LaJoie needed it and had first dibs. Dale Jr won this race with Jeff Burton finishing 2nd and in the spring race Jeff Burton won it with Dale Jr finishing 2nd. 24.
