In 1998 and 1999 the Busch Series sure wasn't hurtin' for competitors! 3. This was the first race of Gordon's brief return to the series in a self-owned Pepsi #24 Chevrolet. Jeff would run just 11 races over this year and the next, winning twice, before calling it quits on pulling double duty. 4. Sign there's too many Cup regulars in the field 6. 23andJoe posted: 04.04.2014 - 5:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #00 sponsor: Cheez-It Pontiac (Billy Jones) #07 sponsor: High Tech Trailers Chevrolet (Bruce Hanusosky) #29 sponsor: Diamond Ridge Chevrolet (Gary Bechtel) #70 sponsor: Adrian Carriers Chevrolet (Ivan Murphy) #73 sponsor: Burnham Boilers Ford (John Wall) #77 sponsor: Lear Corporation/UAW Ford (Tony Hall) #29 crew chief: Jay Guy 7. 23andJoe posted: 04.04.2014 - 5:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #43 crew chief: ??? Looking at the race results, I see 19 Buschwhackers. In addition to that, only 3 series regulars in the top 10, with Dale Jr. in 6th being the highest. 9. This would be his only Sin City triumph in the iconic Winn-Dixie #60 Ford but he would go on to win here four times in seven attempts driving for three different organizations. Martin's win here would be the first of six Busch triumphs for him in 1999. 10. Newman31 posted: 03.21.2017 - 6:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) "Looking at the race results, I see 19 Buschwhackers." You miscounted, because I only see 17. 11. SK posted: 03.21.2017 - 6:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) You are both right...17 drivers competed in both this race and the Cup race the next day. However, both Ted Musgrave and Morgan Shepherd attempted and failed to qualify for BOTH races - making 19 total on the entry list. 12.
