Skinner DQ'd, looks like Blaney gets his 1st BGN win..... that can't happen, though... the YELLOW car getting DQ'd from the YELLOW 300????? Skinner wins.... B.S.!!!!!!! Blaney should have won! 2. But I do remember the massive 15-car pileup on the frontstretch on lap 134 that injured Wayne Grubb. 5. Officially, they called it "unauthorized parts" on the engine. His $19,000 fine (the difference between the prize money at 1st place and last place) was the biggest fine in the Busch series at the time. 12. RaceFanX posted: 02.24.2018 - 4:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Since Mike Skinner's win was reinstalled this didn't turn out to be Dave Blaney's first career win BUT his runner-up performance still turned out to be the best for a Busch series driving racing a Pontiac at Atlanta, the brand never won a race here and no other Pontiac driver ever finished better than third on this track. Blaney had to wait more than seven years after this race to finally become a Busch series winner, he'd score his lone win in the series at Charlotte in the fall of 2006. 18. Anonymous posted: 05.17.2020 - 11:41 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I do not believe Terry Labonte was involved in this wreck because 44 no it should say 64 Geoffrey Bodine because it was his car who caused it, and Mike Dillon had a scrape in that one too. he scrapped Matt Kenseth's car when after he was spinning. 21. Anonymous posted: 05.17.2020 - 11:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) they mentioned 2nd career start uh no Mike Skinner actually ran Bristol and Charlotte amongst others in 94, he had't made a race in that series between 94-99 until Las Vegas that year should've said 2nd start of season. 22. Jimnsimforever posted: 05.20.2020 - 4:57 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @21 Yeah, ESPN also televised the Busch race in Vegas the week before this race with Jerry Punch doing the lap by lap and he was calling it Mike Skinner's Busch Series debut all race long. He'd run 7 Busch races earlier in his career and it was a pretty bad mistake by ESPN because in his 4th career start in 1994 he put his #88 KFC car on the pole in Charlotte in the Busch race the day before the 600. That's what put Mike Skinner on the map and got the attention of big time owners. It ended up getting him the ride in Richard Childress's truck for the first season of the Truck Series and his career took off from there. 23.
