Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr and others crashed to being out the 6th caution and when the rains came again, this one was over! 2. He later came on the radio and told his crew, "That was the dumbest thing I have ever done in my life." Yeah, CBS bumped the race to TNN after the rain delay for a final four pre-game show, of all things. 3. They couldn't get any kind of rhythm going. 5. Jim posted: 09.13.2009 - 9:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 3 Bodines in the race. Somebody posted the #64 DNQ Geoff Bodine ? Jeff Green had associate sponsorship from Albertson's, so his should read Kleenex/Albertson's. Benson had Alka-Seltzer on the quarter panels. 9. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. comes into a major NASCAR race as its defending winner for the first time but has to settle for a top-10 as he does not lead a lap. His next trip to Texas the following year as a Winston Cup driver would be more memorable. Mark Krogh's DNQ here was the end of his NASCAR driving career. 11. RaceFanX posted: 07.05.2017 - 12:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kenny Irwin, Jr. finally gets to make his Busch series debut after five previous attempts in earlier years all ended in DNQs. The Winston Cup racer's first actual start in the series was a good one as Irwin came home fifth, his best result among the 14 starts he would make in Busch in a career cut much too short. 12. And he was doing well until a late crash. 18. SweetRich posted: 06.29.2020 - 4:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The commentators were Mike Joy, Ned Jarrett and Buddy Baker.
