Turned out to be his final top-10 for that matter.

First Busch race held at Memphis, held the same day Greg Moore was
killed at California Speedway in a CART wreck.

Yeah, that was the tragic death of a talented young racer out of Canada.

Sorry for the abrupt change of thought, but look at the some of the
DNQs: Jimmy Spencer, Kenny Wallace, Kevin Lepage, Ricky Hendrick! Wow!

Rick Beebe's best NASCAR finish (14th)
road racer Mike Borkowski's Busch debut (32nd)
1993 BGN Champ Steve Grissom's best finish of 1999 (13th)

Re: the DNQ's, there were huge entry lists in the Busch Series back
then, so you had to be really high up in the owner's points to have a
guaranteed qualifying spot. I really loved how big those entry lists
were back then.

Meanwhile, a young driver named Jimmie Johnson leads the first laps of
his NASCAR career.

RD Smith's owner for his failed attempt was William "Rhea" Fain in one
of the few times a car he owned made it to the track.

WD: Mark Day - #? - Buck & Bass Sports Centre - Pontiac

Day's car was owned by FMS Racing, apparently a fan-owned racing effort
that I've been looking into recently. Don't believe they made it to the
track.

The commentators were Eli Gold and Buddy Baker. The pit road reporters
were Glenn Jarrett and Larry McReynolds.
