Jones, was killed in a traffic accident the night of this race. Jones had failed to qualify for the event, and the team was returning to their shop at North Carolina. All of the leaders pitted on the caution at lap 166, except Martin, and Steve Park. They pitted on the lap 196 caution. Martin got back to 4th, Park 6th. 8.
