The opening of the broadcast played this up as a "David vs. Goliath" showdown between points leader Jeff Green and Winston Cup ringer Mark Martin, the series' all-time win leader at the time. They weren't far off as both placed on the podium but Jeff Burton proved to be a dark horse winner crashing the battle. 13.
