Denton wrecked Sammie Sanders and later Elton Sawyer. * Christian Elder spun out 3 times in the race or got spun out. * Mike Dillon's career was virtually over after this wreck, which would eventually lead to Johhny Sauter taking over the ride. 7. Darrell Waltrip spent a long time questioning NASCAR penalizing Kevin Harvick jumping the restart, what happened was that Randy LaJoie's car would not go and Harvick ran around him and took the flag himself ahead of LaJoie. NASCAR ruled that LaJoie was the restart control car and Harvick had no business beating the restart control car back to the line. 9.
