This isn't the last time Kenseth would be spun at the end of a race, Jeff Gordon did it to win at Chicagoland in 2006 cup race. 3. This race was delayed by 2 hours for rain and also spawned a tirade by Humpy Wheeler, who was pissed that TNT didn't call it "Lowe's Motor Speedway", and simply referred to it "Busch Series racing from Charlotte." He went on to try to cut the power lines from the production truck for NBC's coverage of the cup race the next day, which was ironically bumped to TNT because of NBC News coverage of our invading of Afghanistan. 5. biffle16 posted: 05.24.2007 - 4:02 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) Damn right, Thomas. As you said before, Greg Biffle is NA$CAR's favorite scapegoat. 6. TaterRacing posted: 08.23.2010 - 3:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Rick Hendrick did not own the No. 5 Chevy driven by Ward Burton. It was owned by Ward's Cup crew chief Tommy Baldwin for this race and Homestead. "FAST FACTS * Tommy Baldwin Racing will compete in their second Busch Series event with driver Ward Burton driving the No. 5 Pillsbury Chevrolet Monte Carlo. In their debut at Charlotte last month, they ran up front until getting caught in a wreck. The team made needed repairs and returned Burton to the race and finished eighth. They will compete with the same car that they had at Charlotte. " http://www.motorsport.com/news/article.asp?ID=81555&FS=NASCAR-NS 7. In the wake of Blaise Alexander's death, there's a lot of talk about the HANS and Hutchens devices with the TNT crew, Michael Waltrip, Chad Little, Elton Sawyer (who talked about his brutal Atlanta crash), and Joe Nemechek (who suggested Blaise wear a device at Dover), in addition to a couple other segments. These were revolutionary at the time, especially after an incident that, although not in NASCAR, still marked a huge change in safety. 15. joey2448 posted: 05.03.2020 - 9:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Just to be clear about the finish of the race, Kenseth spun without any contact from Biffle, and it wasn't on the last lap. Matt got loose in the middle of turns 3 and 4 with three laps to go (coming to take two to go) and as he chased the car up the track to save it, Biffle nearly touched him but never actually did, and Kenseth looped it around off turn 4 as Biffle slipped by on the inside. 16.
