Wimmer won the battle but the Biffle won the war as his third-place run here clinched the 2002 NASCAR Busch Series championship, the title made him the first driver to win championships in both the Truck and the Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity series. This was the third of Wimmer's six Busch wins. It was the only time a Pontiac driver won the series' race at Phoenix. 4.
