Before Ashton Lewis Jr got a ride with Team Rensi, didn't he drive for a team owned by his father? Paul Menard debuted with a 12th place finish. Jason Schuler's 13th place finish is his best. Same for Jason White who finished 17th, John Hayden who finished 18th, and Jamie Mosley who debuted with his best career finish (Jamie is now a crew chief in the Hooters Pro Cup Series). See what happens when you don't have Buschwhackers? Although Todd Bodine was in the race. 3. The reason for this was that NEMCO was planning on fielding a full-time car for Reutimann in 2004 and didn't want him to run more than seven races and become ineligible for Rookie of the Year the following season. Reutimann practiced and qualified the car just for the additional track time, but the team never planned on having him drive the car for the race. Also, Mark Green and Mike McLaughlin were on-hand in Nashville to practice and possibly qualify the No. 4 and No. 92 cars, respectively, while Mike Wallace and Todd Bodine were pulling double-duty between Nashville and the Cup race at Pocono. Both Wallace and Bodine qualified their Busch cars, so they got to retain their qualifying positions. Driver changes: DC | David Reutimann | 87 | Hills Brothers / Pick 'n Save | Joe Nemechek | Chevrolet 12. 48johnsonfan posted: 11.17.2018 - 12:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This race was just recently uploaded again and it also completes the 2003 season on YouTube, as in all races are now on YouTube. 13. rm posted: 05.10.2020 - 9:58 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) 26 sponsor - Dr. Pepper (no Express Personnel) 48 sponsor - Innovative Motorsports 61 make - Chevrolet DC: Dan Pardus - 39 - Three Stooges Beer - Jay Robinson - Ford Not sure what happened to Pardus, apparently Jamie Mosley was a very late substitute driver for the Jay Robinson team in this race after the teams had already arrived at the track. Rick Mast was one of the pit reporters for this race, and Hank Parker Jr. was in the booth. The skeleton TV crews for standalone races sure can be interesting sometimes, with Mast's inclusion being a surprise to most of the people he interviewed too. Larry Gunselman's rotten season continued here as he missed the start of the race with mechanical problems. I'm not sure when he managed to rejoin the field, but he pulled off sometime after the lap 133 caution. Kasey Kahne had the tailpipes from his #38 car come off and they bounced around the trioval before Gunselman hit the debris head-on and sent them towards the infield grass, a shower of sparks following closely behind. Gunselman almost certainly had significant radiator damage, and the "overheating" DNF reason reflects that. It was not a great showing at the home track for the Day Enterprises team, though Justin Ashburn did deliver a top-20 in the second car, albeit 10 laps behind race winner Scott Riggs. 14.
