1996 CART champion Jimmy Vasser makes his second and final Busch series
start, finishing a career best 25th, 4 laps down.

It's a shame his NASCAR career never took off

Randy LaJoie makes his final start in the #7 NEMCO car. In his last ride
in competitive equipment the 2-time series champ finished 11th.

With the exception of running 31 of 35 events in 2005 in Frank Cicci's
#34, LaJoie would not find a full-time ride again on the series after
his firing.

Yeah, Vasser is a good driver and a hell of a personality, NASCAR would
have been lucky to have him, he was just a few years early in his move
from Indycar...

JV had a great career in Champ Car (formerly CART); he had nothing to
prove by driving a stock car.

Didn't Hornaday and Riggs spin out together late in this race?

This was the race where Scott Riggs was lapping Shane Hmiel. Ron
Hornaday was running sceond. Shane then ran into Riggs after getting
lapped. Drove on the inside but Hornaday was already there. It caused
damage to Riggs & spun both Hmiel & Hornaday. Shane Hmiel was black
flagged for 1 lap for his bonehead move for taking out both first & second.
