In the most thrilling race of the year, Brian Vickers grabbed his first
career victory. Shane Hmeil won the pole and dominated the race, but his
car clearly fell off at the end. However, he fought Vickers hard,
running side-by-side for nearly 40 laps before finally falling to 4th.
Notes: Paul Menard got his first career top-10. Mike Skinner drove the
#7 to 7th. It was his first BUSCH race since 2000. Mardy Lindley made
his first BUSCH race. He finished 16th. Dude Teate made a race in the #0
Gene Albert made his first career race. Brian Tyler made a start in the #22

Man, what a great battle between Brian and Shane there for the last 40
laps.

One of the greatest races I have ever seen. For all he did wrong, Shane
Hmiel proved that he was a very talented driver who could wheel a race
car. Unfortunately, he threw his career away.

this race.
