Classic late-race battle up front between Sauter, Kenseth, and Harvick. Sauter intentionally bumped Kenseth, who was leading, going into the final turn of the final lap to win. Kenseth ended up losing five positions in one corner. 2. RaceFanX posted: 01.07.2008 - 3:07 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Was this the first win for car owner Mike Curb since Richard picked up 200? I still can't believe Mike Curb's #43 won this race, granted they had all the support of RCR behind them for the events with Sauter but still nice win for the underdogs. 3. most posted: 03.16.2008 - 10:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yeah, that was kind of a shocker, when I heard about the 2 rides for Sauter I though, he may win for RCR but no way will the #43 win, looks like I was wrong! 4. irony posted: 05.23.2011 - 3:07 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Franky Perez delivered the worst National Anther in racing history before this race. Even John Michael Montgomery's drunken attempt was better. This was the race Scott Riggs made his "most disrespectful driver" rant. 5. Sauter's RCR teammate, Harvick, ended up bumping Kenseth to get him away from Sauter. 7. sk posted: 04.22.2013 - 1:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ron Barfield's last major NASCAR start. 8. Hmiel punted Randy MacDonald, several laps down to Hmiel, and ended the Canadian independent's night after just a hundred laps. In the closing laps, Hmiel slammed into Jason Keller and caused Keller to smack the wall hard. The broadcast team was pretty confused by the turn of events, as it seemed Hmiel never even tried to slow down and make the corner. Keller and his team were understandably irate, and they had a run-in back in the garage post-race. Even though the suspension wound up being the much bigger story, it didn't completely overshadow the tremendous Sauter-Kenseth battle between Wisconsin natives for the win in this race. Mike Bliss climbed up and over Scott Riggs' ailing car on lap 208, becoming stuck on top of the #10 car for a brief moment. Somehow, both cars were able to finish the race without losing a ton of laps, though they were far down the order at the end. Riggs was very, very upset at Ron Hornaday post-race, describing his disdain for Hornaday at length. Wally Dallenbach and Tony Stewart's telestrator drawing skills late in this race might be the best thing to come out of this one. The duo were also highly amused at Benny Parsons finding no food in the hospitality tent after the race, questioning what Buffet Benny was going to do without a buffet! 13. He didn't "never even try to slow down and make the corner" and this was clear to the broadcast team the entire time. Johnny Sauter and Matt Kenseth had an intense battle over the last 10 laps. At one point with about 5 laps to go they made contact in turn 4 and both of them slid sideways, tires smoking, coming out of the corner. They each made terrific saves but then had to deal with Kevin Harvick, who took advantage of the leaders' loss of momentum and made a daring three-wide move to the inside in turn 1. They raced three wide through the corner with Sauter coming out on top from the middle lane. The caution came out for the Hmiel/Keller crash the same lap and Kenseth just about intentionally turned Sauter into the wall under the yellow flag in turn 1. Sauter had by far the fastest car for the entire race but kept having trouble that put him to the back, including a flat tire near halfway. 14.
