Jamie McMurray drove a 2nd Braun car to his 5th career win. Martin Truex
Jr. dominated, but McMurray got ahead in a late race pit stop and drove
by Kevin Harvick when Robby Gordon forced Harvick up the track with a
couple laps to go. This would be the last BUSCH race in Rockingham.
Notes: Johnny Benson won his first career pole, but it didn't matter as
his team had to go to a backup.

Notes Part II: Kenny Wallace was the fastest in the morning practice but
DNQed when his car broke a gear in qualifying. He bought Staton
Barrett's #91 to race and finished well despite a last lap wreck.

Kenny did not buy a ride. Stanton Barrett willingly got out of his car
so that Kenny Wallace could race and get points for the Championship.

In qualifying, Paul Wolfe got loose, over corrected and went into the
wall at a bad angle, which nearly caused his car to flip.

Kenny Wallace and Ashton Lewis participated in a heated discussion in
the parking lot after the race because of the last lap wreck. I remember
Kenny spitting out the F word about 5 times. Was really a shock coming
from him too.

This was the only time all season Todd Braun fielded the #30 car and
Jamie wins with it.

I think this was also the only NASCAR victory for sponsor TrimSpa.

actually steve, kenny did buy the ride from stanton for 10 grand i
believe. that nascar 360 fx show followed kenny that weekend and
documented kenny calling all the small teams that had made the ride and
barrett was the only one willing to sell his ride

I decided to watch qualifying for this race on speed and witnessed a bad
wreck, when Paul Wolfe crashed and hit the wall extermly hard nearly
causing his car to flip, in Evernham's # 6 car! Wolfe is currently a
crew cheif in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (Busch Series, to us NASCAR
fans!! :)

What does that even mean? So if I call the series what it is actually
named I'm not a REAL FAN, or am I misunderstanding you? Are there a
bunch of old, bitter Late Model Sportsman series fans somewhere who
threw a fit when it changed to the Busch Series? Grow up. If you
actually respected the sport you'd understand that changes are a part of
it and have been since the beginning. Of course when your fan base is
made up of old Conservative southerners I guess change is going to be
spit upon.

RaceFanX, while this was the only race of the 2004 Busch Series season
where Todd Braun did enter his #30 car, he did have to change his #32
car's number to 30 in two races, because of another team having the
rights to use the number 32 on their racecar in two races instead of
Braun's team.

Surprised no one mentioned this, but Hermie Sadler and Aaron Fike had a
huge crash in this race. Fike crashed and his car came to rest in the
middle of I think turn 3. Then long after the caution came out, Hermie
Sadler had trouble slowing down and hit him right in the door at a fast
speed.

Sponsor Update and Note
Not only was this Trim Spa's only victory, they won it in style. Trim
Spa's spokeswoman at the time was the late Anna Nicole Smith(RIP) who
visited the track and Braun Racing. Trim Spa held a contest all season
to see who the fittest person in the garage area was, inviting every
crewman and personnel to participate.

#32 David Stremme Trim Spa/Anna Nicole Smith
The #32 had an artist's rendering of the late Playboy model and Trim Spa
spokeswoman on the hood of the car. She also visited the team during the
race weekend.

Kenny couldn't get a provisional due to him being in the top 30-35 of
the previous years points for the first 5 races.
