Johnny Sauter and Matt Kenseth took a gamble, but Kevin Harvick won
after the gamble failed. Kenseth and Sauter were racing for the lead
with 25 to go, but made contact, which forced Dave Blaney's car into the
wall. Both Kenseth's and Sauter's cars had severe damage. After that,
all Harvick had to do was keep Kasey Khane in his rearview mirror. After
the race, Harvick took over the points lead.
Notes: Michael Holligan's #50 team attempted to make their first race
with David Starr.
J.J. Yeley made his BUSCH debut and finished 23rd. RWI Inc. made its
BUSCH debut with Billy Parker and finished 28th.

Sauter's move that put Blaney in the wall and badly wounded Kenseth's
dominant Ford gave him his second nomination for Idiot of the Year. It
would not be his last.

After this race, Sauter became the first driver to be fined for cursing
during an interview.

Shane Sieg made his debut in this race, and ran the next week and has
never raced again in the Busch Series

Shane Sieg's final Busch start, unless he decides to go through NASCAR's
drug rehabilitation program and get back in the driver's seat.
