Martin's kicking everyone's ass and running away w/ the win but w/ 38 laps to go, a caution flies. Truex Jr. was able to go to the end on fuel but Bono decides to bring him to pit road. The best he got back to was 5th. Although they won the championship together, Bono made a really smart call in this race. 2. He was kicking all forms of ass. Look for the Bass Pro Shops # 8 in victory lane in 2005 at PPIR. This racetrack owes him one, and Bono owes him one too. Bet he doesnt call him to pit next time! 3. larry spencer posted: 09.14.2005 - 11:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) It was Tyler Walkers fifst busch start 4. It looked like a bunch of cars were in a race to the garage area to beat the traffic leaving the track. 7. Derrike Cope, who finished 43rd in this race, would've finished 39th a year earlier, and this race had 12 cars park by lap 50, compared to 16 cars a year earlier (not including Brian Vickers, who crashed after 29 laps, but including the other 2 guys involved in that same wreck, as they would've parked it anyway). 8. The Pikes Peak races were notorious for large amounts of start-and-parks and start-and-park backup entries, seeing it was a stand alone event with a rather large distance to travel for many of the teams. 12. Tim Fedewa was running 11th when his engine blew with under 50 to go. Johnny Sauter was running 2nd when his engine blew, he had led a good amount of the early portion of the race. 17.
