I would like to add Casey Atwood almost got FitzBradshaw Racing their
first win but Martin Truex, Jr. played with him and Robby Gordon got by
to win.

If Casey Atwood would have won this race, he wouldn't of dropped off the
NASCAR scene. Atwood's career ended by a caution, very similar to the
Homestead cup race where a late caution allowed Bill Elliott to pass him
for the win.

Lowell Bennett is listed in the 02 car, but he was actually in the 82 car.

If Casey Atwood puts the bump and run on Robby Gordon he extends his
career a few more years im pretty sure he regrets not trying that move.
But I'm sure he didn't do it because of his past criticism of how he won
his 1st Busch race.

I've heard that this is what made Robby decide to leave RCR and move his
team up to Cup.

Hindsight being 20/20, wasn't a smart idea. If he kept his team in Busch
and ran part time in Cup he would have lasted. He ran the first 11 races
of the 2004 Busch season. he got 6 top 10's and 3 top 5's with no DNFs
out of 11 races. Was 5th in points at the time 148 points back, not a
bad start.

Robby would have left NASCAR eventually but if he had stayed in Busch he
may have found more success.

Lowell Bennett's seventh and final career start in The Busch Series. In
those seven starts, three of them were at Indianapolis Raceway Park with
a career best finish of 21st in 2002.

In an unusual outside reference to NASCAR a picture of Robby Gordon
celebrating his win in victory lane here was featured in a 2020 video by
the popular YouTube channel WatchMojo.com talking about the Mandela
Effect, the odd phenomenon where large groups of people all remember
something significantly different from how it actually occurred. The
video was titled "Top 20 Mind-Blowing Examples of the Mandela Effect"
and included Gordon because of his sponsor at the time, Fruit of the
Loom. One entry on this list was pointing out that Fruit of the Loom's
logo has never included a cornucopia despite everyone thinking it does
for one reason or another. The logo was prominently featured on Gordon's
driver's suit.
