Tough break for Regan Smith. He had a great qualifying run but ended up
getting in trouble. I'm really pulling for him as he was born about an
hour away from where I live.

Congrats to Newman on another Busch win. What a strange race.

Kevin Lepage with an amazing 9th place finish in the McDonald
Motorsports car. Best finish ever for that team.

Race sucked for me. Every one of my favorite full time Busch guys except
Truex crashed, Stewart and Harvick crashed, just wasn't a fun night.

My respect level for Newman climbed a bit at this race though when he
hopped out of the car and almost the first words out of his mouth were
apoligizing about the incident with TJ Bell.

My respect level for Newman died when he screwed his own teammate from
winning, too bad tony didn't get Newman

I love that there were 3 Lowe's cars in this race that neither of them
made to half-way in Lowe's Motor Speedway. I thought that Lowe's had an
agreement with NASCAR that the Lowe's cars would always do well at
Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Not often you see three past champions needing to use the past
champion's provisional to make the race. A strange race all around.

It's really weird to see Jimmie Johnson finish dead last, but he still
hasn't done this in Cup...

The closest he came to achieving said feat was the 2014 Coke Zero 400,
where he finished 42nd after an early crash. He probably would have
finished last, but Allmendinger literally decided to drive into the
grass for no reason and kill the splitter.

He also almost finished last in the 2014 New Hampsire race when he blew
a tire and crashed out on lap 11

The last race for Kasey Kahne for Brad Akins. Kasey would return to
drive the #38 Great Clips car in 2010 but under the ownership of Todd
Braun.

The post-diamond ground era of Charlotte was a mess. Just a ridiculous
amount of carnage.

I think it was in qualifying for this race where someone damaged the
SAFER barrier when they wrecked on their hot lap. Cannot remember who.
It was most definitely an omen for how this race and the weekend as a
whole would turn out.

Sherman had a rare good run here, he had top 20 pace all night and kept
it clean to come home 13th, which is his best finish on a regular oval
by far.
