Carl Edwards and Denny Hamlin both tried to wreck Carl Long at seperate
times in this race. It was delayed 1 1/2 hours because of rain.

First race for unleaded fuel. Carl Edwards wins in his home state. Denny
Hamlin had the best car until the end. Great run for Kevin Grubb in 10th.

It was a really good race. It basically came down to who had the better
man on top of the box and that was Edwards crew chief. Not quite sure
what Hamlins crew was thinking keeping him out there on old tires when
cautions were few and far between. And if Hamlin is so mad that Edwards
and Bowyer raced him for position then he doesnt need to be in a stock car.

Great win for Edwards, only 6 cars finished on the lead lap at the end
of the night. Good runs for Sorenson, Wimmer, Green, Wallace, Grubb, and
Jay Sauter.

Yes, this is Kevin Grubb's first Top 10 since Pikes Peak in July 2003.
Hooters Pro Cup star Shane Huffman makes his second Busch start, driving
for JR Motorsports. The #36 team had their shocks confiscated after the
race, no word on any penalties yet.

And yes, Sebastien Bourdais did win the Champ Car race! (If anybody's
wondering why I'm saying this, Bourdais' victory at San Jose was greatly
overshadowed by a crash and off-track fight between Paul Tracy and Alex
Tagliani.)

Although NA$CAR is the primary discussion on this web site, the name of
the web site is (caps added for emphasis) RACING-reference.info, and
since I am a fan of more than just NA$CAR (formerly NASCAR), I felt that
a fight between two drivers was worth mentioning. If I remember
correctly, two drivers (I think J.C. France and Chris Bingham) crashed
and then fought at Mexico City in the Rolex Sports Car race.

Well, this had to be one of the best Busch races of the year. NASCAR
finally let the boys race without any competition *cough* I mean
mysterious debris cautions getting in the way. It was nice to see the
race play out like it should.

This race was NOT run in Edwards' home state. The track is in Madison,
Ill., across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. Edwards is from
Columbia, Mo. He considers Gateway his home track, but it's not in his
home state. Just wanted to clarify that.

The commentators were Allen Bestwick and Michael Waltrip. The pit road
reporters were Ralph Sheheen and Lindsay Czarniak.
