Also the best finish of the 88 car of 2006. 3. Junior just got his hand back in the car when Edwards hit his(Junior's) car. Drivers need to grow up a little! 5. Besides, Junior doesn't race that way. Carl was loose coming out of Turn 2 before they made contact. 6. Let us go back to when the three drivers went into turn 1. Carl went in hard trying to hold of the 8 and 88. Realizing the 8 was fast high he gave it alittle too much gas coming off the 2 turn and he got loose. Because of the run off the corner Jr couldn't slow down and could do nothing to avoid the rear end of the 60 car. Carl even admited that he got loose in a post race interview. This was a case of three great drivers all going for the win. Which might I add is the reason they are all racer. If you back off at the end of a race, and not go as hard as you can go, you should just hang up your helmet now. At that point your not a racer, your an also ran. Just good hard racing, the way it was always ment to be. Dale Sr. would have been proud that his son never gave up. As for what Carl did after the race. That Days of Thunder like move to pop the 8 car on a pace lap after the race was extremly dangerous and uncalled for. yes he was angry but putting his, JR's and everyone elses life on that race tracks life in danger is unnesscary. 7. mk17ce99 posted: 08.24.2006 - 4:49 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) ^Flare up the dramatics ^ Putting everyones life in danger, give me a break. It was a little side swipe that for one got not even close to Jr's hand and two we have all saw worse when drivers on occasion would spin other drivers out on pit road, most notably at Bristol. So to say that Edwards was jepordizing peoples lives is a little out of wack.... 8. Priceless! 13. Rusty posted: 06.16.2008 - 12:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This was the first time Kurt Busch ran a Busch Series race and didn't get a top 10. He led the most laps, but ended up 21st after being spun by Denny Hamlin late in the race. 14. dewalt17 posted: 11.19.2009 - 8:30 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) surprising how many cup guys entered this race seeing that it isnt daytona 15. Wil posted: 12.05.2018 - 3:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Wow, Dale wrecked Carl as blatantly as I've ever seen late in this one, then Carl retaliates and door slams the 8, which could have been a disaster because Jr's left hand was out the window. Jr went on to win and actually got booed in victory lane. Man I love the Busch series from 2004-2007, so much entertainment. 20. The similarity to that famous scene in "Days of Thunder" where Tom Cruise's "Cole Trickle" deliberately wrecks Cary Elwes' "Russ Wheeler" while the latter is taking a victory lap did not go unnoticed. 21. Anon posted: 08.26.2019 - 12:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I was at this race and can confirm that Junior did in fact get booed. It is probably the only time in his career that this happened. Even his own diehard fans were upset. It is funny how times change. Back in the day not even Junior got a pass for this, yet today when it happens fans will give a pass depending on the participants. 22. By coincidence "Talladega Nights" was in theaters at the time of this race. 27. Rich posted: 12.20.2020 - 5:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bill Weber and Wally Dallenbach were the commentators.
