Strong and solid Top-5 for Greg. I don't think he's running at Mexico City, so on to Las Vegas. 2. Darrell posted: 02.25.2007 - 2:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Short field. Kenseth wins. Buschwhackers continue to ruin the Busch Series. (Yawn) 3. Recap: Dave Blaney's toyota led the field to the green, like a typical California race everything got spread out and not much happened about 10 laps into the race or so Kertus Davis spun around, the next incident after that was for when Eric McClure blew a tire and hit the wall. The next one was a HARD wreck where Jason Leffler came across the front nose of Kenny Wallace and hit the wall head on collecting Juan Pablo Montoya, the only other notable incident was when Paul Menard blew a motor and Mike Wallace spun out in the oil fluid, Matt Kenseth passed Jeff Burton for the lead with about 20 to go and didn't look back, Casey Mears(who missed the race at Daytona) tried to catch him but couldn't get the job done. Congrats to Matt Kenseth on his 22nd career busch series win, putting him 5th in all time Busch wins passing the late Dale Earnhardt. 4. The hood flapping and impact reminded me a lot of the Earnhardt crash at Daytona. 5. yourself posted: 02.25.2007 - 6:23 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) LOL. Take a look at Pikes Peak in 2003. Imagine that race, only 5 times worse. That's what you'd have without Cup drivers. Cup drivers have raced the Busch series ever since it began, so you can keep on believing that they are "ruining the Busch series." All they do is make it competitive. Look at the drivers in Cup that have come from Busch in the past couple of seasons. "Ruining the Busch series." LOL. 6. tommy posted: 02.25.2007 - 6:43 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Nice run for Sam Hornish Jr. He was running top 10 for a while and was runnin 16th at the time of his wreck. 7. He is also the best non-Buschwhacker in the Busch points. :+: Kenny Wallace may break Tommy Houston's record for Busch starts (417) after all! He's got a ride in a Rensi car! At least for this race. Kyle Busch: 25th Top 5 (3rd) Matt Kenseth: won in his 200th start 8. mcmurrayfan posted: 02.26.2007 - 2:02 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great run by Regan Smith with his career best finish. 9. Rusty posted: 02.26.2007 - 4:20 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) To yourself Cup drivers are making the Busch Series too competitive, all they do is win EVERY race and make it boring and predictable, infact the last time Kevin Harvick or Matt Kenseth didn't win a Busch race was October 13th, and who won the race right before that? Oh ya, Kevin Harvick...the busch series needs cup drivers, yes but there's too many and people don't want to watch Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth or one of there cup buddies win every week. 10. Dave was shifted to the 10 and Chad Blount was recruited to the 32...then they just pulled out. If anything, i believe it was nothing more of a 10 backup anyway. 20. Yeley (though for the second week in a row, it was questioned why a driver involved in the caution received the lucky dog, though ultimately in both races it had very little impact on the outcome) Not a great night for the JD bunch. Eric McClure wrecked twice - once early on while dodging a spinning Kertus Davis (while McClure was running last, mind you!), driving for KHI instead of the family team - with the second hit the result of a blown tire that put him behind the wall for most of the race. He made a few more laps at the end, but the only car he beat was the team's start-and-park entry. As for Kertus Davis, after his early spin he had to play the strategy game to try to reach the front, needing a string of cautions, only for the second-longest green flag run of the day to break out. He finished 30th. 23. JSPorts posted: 01.18.2021 - 7:27 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) That 30th-place finish ended up being Davis' best result in his 5 races with KHI in 2007 (he also finished 30th at Kentucky.) 24. rm posted: 01.18.2021 - 4:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yeah unfortunately for Kertus, his career in non-JD cars was rough, to say the least. One anecdote relayed from his first start in "good" equipment with FitzBradshaw was that it was the first time he'd ever had multiple sets of sticker tires in the pits awaiting him. He was supposed to be scheduled for 13 races in the KHI #77 in 2006 & 2007, but he was clearly on a pretty short leash - especially after Burney Lamar was booted for Bobby Labonte - and didn't last half of that number. Really is a shame it went so poorly as it's always fun to see a guy in Kertus' position get a chance to run in anything half-decent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
