But I also heard he failed inspection. 2. biffle16 posted: 07.08.2007 - 6:01 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Greg 37th. :( Carl 11th. All things considered, his day wasn't so bad. 3. The cup teams have scared away all the little guys, that its rare to get more than 43 cars to show up to a busch race. 5. So they moved it to Saturday morning, so we had to get up early and go, but a pretty fun race. No multicar incidents except for when Steve Wallace cut a tire and collected David Reutimann. Kyle Busch dominated the whole race, it was later found out his springs were illegal but later in the week NASCAR said his springs were legal, it was a mistake on their part. Notes: -First restrictor plate race where the 18 car didn't win the pole since this race in 2005. -David Gilliland finished 10th, his best finish since his win at Kentucky in 2006 -Dale Earnhardt, Jr. drove his own car for the first time, he came from 35th to get a 14th place finish. -Kerry Earnhardt's first Busch Series start since this race in 2005. Plus first NASCAR start of any kind for him in 2007. Nothing else notable from this race. 6. In his only series start to date after 2002, Larry was knocked out early by a crash and finished 38th. 10. 18fan posted: 11.14.2008 - 1:22 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I turned on my TV on ESPN and it said that Kyle won. It was weird that he did not get penalized going on the grass when he got penalized for the same thing at Atlanta in 2005. He came within .005 seconds of sweeping the weekend on the same day 11. I wouldn't put too much on qualifying at the restrictor plate races. Dale was locked into the race so he qualified with his race setup while Kerry was probably on a qualifying setup even though no one was going home since there were only 42 cars in the race. 13. Had Kyle not went to Gibbs, he would have been a top driver for Hendrick Motorsports had he reigned in his aggression and not tore up so many racecars on the Cup side for them. It still burns that he shunned Hendrick for JGR... 17. Kyle posted: 03.25.2012 - 12:58 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) busch didn't shun hendrick for gibbs, hendrick shoved busch out the door in favor of junior (busch was in a contract year and mears had another year) so hendrick never made any effort to resign busch. why bother, when he had championship contender dale jr. coming into his stable? (sarcasm). 18. 18fan posted: 07.02.2012 - 1:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) This was not Kyle's last win for Hendrick. His last win for Hendrick was at Phoenix in November of 2007. 19.
