I have to admit, the last laps were amazingly funny to watch. Ambrose CLEARLY dumps Robby under the caution and Robby gets the bad end of the deal. Robby says, "**** you NASCAR" and runs right next to Marcos the whole caution. Then on the restart, Robby plows into the back of Marcos off turn two, allowing Kevin Harvick and Andy Pilgrim to sail by, but for some reason Pilgrim finished 15th. Not sure why. Harvick withstands the onslaught of Canadian and polesitter, Patrick Carpentier on a GWC and wins by only leading two laps. And early reports have Robby OUT of the #7 car at Pocono tomorrow. 2. I like Robby Gordon but crap like he does today really makes me wonder what the heck is he doing. And I swear Pruett seems to get screwed every race he enters. Also very nice to see Jr. keep the promise Dale Sr. made to Andy Pilgram after Rolex 24 in 2001. 3. b4il3y posted: 08.05.2007 - 5:40 am Rate this comment: (1) (1) I've always taken up for Robby ... But what he did today was stupid as hell. Marcos was impressing everyone and running great, and Robby felt he had to end it. And to top it all off...a Buschwhacker won...and held off more than one ringer to do it. Lots and lots of ringers tho and most of them did well. 4. Rusty posted: 08.05.2007 - 8:00 am Rate this comment: (1) (1) Robby Gordon......what an idiot. Too bad for Marcos Ambrose, who should be celebrating his first NBS win instead of Kevin Havoc stealing another one from the busch regulars while Robby Gordon throws a temper tantrum. 5. Not complaining at all, i'm a Harvick fan and like Ambrose and Gordon too. 7. Robby Gordon is a jerk posted: 08.05.2007 - 1:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) It's tough to say. I believe Ambrose was leading and ROBBY roughed him up first when the yellow came out but there is not a good angle to find out if that is true. Ambrose got Robby back fair and square. I hope NASCAR looks at Robby's history on how he has always retaliated and suspend him from a few races, not just Pocono but Watkins Glen too. There is a place and time for it and they call it Bristol. So Robby should of waited, entered the Busch race at Bristol and done that, now he looks like a jerk and I hope all his sponsors decide to leave. He is not all that Robby fan's say he is such as a GOOD driver, it seems like he causes more crap that is uncalled for. I think somehow someway Robby and Jeff are related. They both love to pay people back when there is NO need for it right then and there. 8. DEIFan16 posted: 08.05.2007 - 3:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Heres what happened here (Jayski.com) NASCAR issued a statement Saturday evening about the incident during the Busch race from Ramsey Poston, NASCAR Managing Director of Corporate Communications: "Once the caution came out on Lap 72 the field was frozen. Once the field is frozen, all cars must maintain cautious pace in order to be scored. At the time that the field was frozen, the #59 was in the lead. The #55 did not maintain cautious pace and by NASCAR rule, cars not maintaining cautious pace are scored only when they blend back into the continuous line. The 55 based on our scoring was ordered to blend back in behind the #33 in front of the #7. The tower ordered the #55 multiple times to get in to position. The directive was acknowledged by the crew chief of the #55 and the crew chief also communicated the order to the driver of the #55. The driver ignored NASCARÆs directive. He was warned that he would be black flagged if he did not comply. Once the #55 crossed the start-finish line he was posted per the NASCAR rule book and at that time the directive to display the black flag was given. After contact with the 5#9 on Lap 73, NASCAR took emergency action per the rule book Section12-2 thus parking the #55, which was also ignored. The black flag with the white cross was displayed to the #55 when it crossed the start-finish line on lap 74. The #55 finished the race in the 18th position.ö(NASCAR PR) Marcus was screwed out of a win. And Carpantier should have beat Harvick. Otherwise, I loved the race, They have to come back here next year. 10. The Real Thomas posted: 08.05.2007 - 8:48 pm Rate this comment: (1) (2) Well Hapless Harvick gets given another one. His ass should have been parked for purposely wiping out Scott Pruett with the rest of the field, including the 2 crappy cars he owns and one of daddy Childress's cars. Robby Gordon should have been pulled out of the car by the officials under the caution. I think the poster is exactly correct who said that Robby and Jeff are related for paying people back when they were wrong in the first place. Marcos simply gave Robby back what he gave him (although they never really had a decent camera shot of the original punt, but you know it happened since the rear fender on the #59 wasn't damaged before they went into the corner.) In addition, after he bumped Marcos, he passed him in the grass like an Alex Zanardi-cloned barbarian. These are the kind of "races" that prove the people who think that NASCAR is like the WWE right. The end was clearly manipulated improperly, leading to a cheap-shot ridiculous finish, just like in wrestling. 14. I knew he would spin Marcos out if they threw the green so NASCAR basically cheated Marcos out of a win. I hope they keep Robby out of the Watkins Glen Cup Race. Other than that it was a good race and I hope they come back next year. Intresting that Harvick wrecked Scott Pruett and both of his own cars got caught up in it. 17. And remember when I said that Brad Coleman's great run in Mexico could be a sign of things to come? Look at his great result here. It seems like Robby Gordon always gets the raw end of the deal from NA$CRAP. They almost always penalize Robby more than they would someone else for the same offense. Remember a month ago when they docked him 25 points for "an improper TV camera lens on his car"? As if it would improve the aerodynamics? Darrell hit the nail on the head; "NA$CA$H" have gotten too big for themselves. And Shane makes a great point. If the second place car spins the leader under caution (like Ambrose did to Gordon), would the leader have to restart 8th, 9th, 10th, or wherever he was when he regained caution speed, and would the new leader then be penalized? In this case, the leader got screwed. Even if Ambrose was the leader when the field was "frozen", Robby should have at least been scored 2nd. Robby Gordon won this weekend in Montreal! But since NA$CRAP do not like him, they won't acknowledge the real winner. 24. What I would give to have USAC, IMSA, or SCCA to run NASCAR sanctioned events because clearly, NASCAR is proving itself increasingly incompetent to do so. Almost any other form of auto racing would have red-flagged the event until either Robby submitted to the black flag or he parked his car. As much as I am angry at Gordon for his idiocy, NASCAR equally shares the blame for allowing it to happen. 28. Rusty posted: 08.09.2007 - 3:31 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) I've been a fan since 1995 and I think you all are a bunch of babies who always cry about NASCAR, hello, the sport is doing better than ever and it's more competitive than ever. If you disagree just watch a race from 2000, and then one from this year. A lot of differences. At the turn of the millennium, another powerful US motorsports sanctioning body began to show ignorance with their power. CART, the once mighty organization that governed IndyCar racing, began hiring incompetent people (like Joe Heitzler), making stupid decisions, angering race fans, and getting defensive rather than apologetic. If Brian France gives a crap about the fans (the traditional fans) he will stop making so many drastic changes like the Top 35, the CHA$E, and the free pass. 33. Mr. Big posted: 05.26.2008 - 12:23 pm Rate this comment: (1) (1) Robby Gordon won this race. Well, he should've. When the caution flag was thrown, he was 2nd. Not 13th or whatever, 2nd. So NASCAR should've placed him in 2nd. On the restart, he spins out Ambrose, so he should be the leader and he should win this race. But no, NASCAR wants a golden boy to win. 34. Here's a list of those drivers: #6 - Auggie Vidovich (sub for David Ragan) #21 - Brandon Miller (sub for Kevin Harvick) #29 - Scott Wimmer (sub for Jeff Burton) #37 - Casey Atwood (sub for Greg Biffle) #60 - John Andretti (sub for Carl Edwards) #99 - Mark Green (sub for David Reutimann) [Green drove the No. 44 Fitz Motorsports car in the race, which was a start-and-park entry.] All six substitute drivers participated in both practice sessions. Miller (#21), Wimmer (#29), and Atwood (#37) also qualified their cars, resulting in Harvick, Burton, and Biffle, respectively, having to start the race from the rear of the field. Robby Gordon (#55) also pulled double-duty between Montreal and Michigan, but he did not have a substitute driver on-hand at the former location. He participated in both open practice sessions that took place on Thursday (along with all the other double-duty drivers), but his car did not take to the track during either of the two Friday practice sessions. Gordon would qualify his car on Saturday. (Same day as the race.) 43.
