First time start for Franchitti, the 2007 IRL Champion, who started 3rd. Awesome job to the Keselowski brothers, especially Brian who was driving for the underfunded #49 team. 10th place? Good job. Also a good job to Ron Young (17th) who stayed out of the mess and brought home a hard earned 17th place finish. Steve Wallace and Kyle Krisiloff were both parked for separate incidents. 25 cautions? I missed a majority of the race. What the hell happened? People forget how to drive or what? 3. Under normal circumstances, that probably would have been true. With this race, I got back to the house after stopping to pick up a pizza and there were still 95 laps to go. I've seen Busch races have a butt load of yellows like this before, but it's usually because of something outside of the drivers' control, like the track coming up. This was just people being overzealous behind the wheel in what they probably thought was the only chance they would ever have to be triumphant in a Busch Series event. A lot of these drivers quite possibly sullied their resumes today. 4. Also, webmaster, BrYan Clauson's name is spelled with a Y. Second time ever that the Busch series had four straight races with 10 or more cautions (the first time was the same four races plus Richmond last year.) 5. Twenty-eight guys may have finished on the lead lap, but that was all thanks to the lucky dawg rule, not actual racing ability. On a separate note, former team owner Doug Taylor returned to the sport, owning Matt Carter's ride. Also the CAPG team from year's past were the owners of Bobby East's ride, even though it was basically a third car for Brewco. 6. First it was the Purex/Dial Ford driven by Patty Moise in 1994/1995, then Tim Fedewa's Kleenex Ford in 1996, and finally the Channellock Chevrolet in 1998. 8. Dodge posted: 11.01.2007 - 5:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) When the 40 was the Channellock Chevy, I believe Doug Taylor sold the team to Darwin Oordt, who also brought Butch Mock's Cup team. 9. lol posted: 11.02.2007 - 4:05 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) Besides the suck-ass race we had, I find two other things really funny. One, the RR staff haven't even recorded a summary of cautions probably because they realized how much of a bs race this was, and it wouldn't matter lol. Second, the results are so misleading, you only see a few guys out and if it weren't for the 'parked' cars, you'd think it was another boring busch race. (with a surprise winner though.) 10. In victory lane, you can hear Rusty in the back round say "it was bologna". Ron Young involved in 4 incidents but finishes 17th. Good run by Franchitti untill the end. 12. I didn't have pay-tv at the time, so had no access to coverage besides what was available on the NASCAR website. We were lucky enough in that they had decided to stream the races online for free, but it was playing up for this one, so the leaderboard was all we had. Marcos Ambrose being on pole was a really big deal for us and it was great to see him running at the front and being competitive all race long. However, it was an incredibly stressful race with all the cautions, as we would see the yellow come out on the screen, but not know who was involved until the scoring ticked over to the next lap. There was a lot of anxious moments as we feared for Ambrose's great run to be ended short! 23. sk posted: 05.24.2015 - 7:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) (Possibly) the final start for Brandon Miller, ex-RCR prospect who got shuffled out of the mix after running the Busch Series part-time in 2005. 24.
