and is out for Sunday. Word is that David Stremme will drive.

Great runs by Green, Davis, Shepherd, and Neuenberger. Nice to see the

Kevin Lepage makes one of the dumbest moves I've ever seen, exiting pit
road and moving up onto the race track right in front of the field. It
takes out 14+ cars, then in the interview blames the pack for running
into him.

Franchitti was injured after he blew a tire and spun and got T-boned
extremely hard by Larry Gunselman. Later on in the race, Kevin Lepage
pulled out of the pits and onto the track before entering turn 1 right
as the lead pack of about 30 cars was going by, leading to a 16-car
pileup. Carl Edwards got very high in the air after he slammed into the
back of Lepage's slower car.

NASCAR needs to suspend Kevin Lepage indefinitely for his little puppet
show that could've killed himself or Carl Edwards.

After leaving pit road under green, Lepage moved up onto the banking in
turn one at slow speed directly in front of the field, ignoring his
spotter's directions to stay low. Edwards nailed him at 185mph and
Carl's car got airborne. 14 cars were damaged or destroyed in the wreck.

Then in the post wreck interview Lepage indignantly blamed the field for
piling into him. He claimed that he followed NASCAR's orders and came
above the blend line in turn one. The blend line was in turn 2.

Great job Mark Green, Kertus Davis, Morgan Shepherd, Donnie Neuenberger,
Eric McClure, & Mike Harmon. Today they proved that they are racers and
not "field fillers".

Gunselman looked to be going way too fast down on the apron when he
clobbered Franchitti, too. Normally Lepage's move would win the Bonehead
of the Race award, but at least he didn't break anybody's ankle.

Morgan Shepherd avoided the carnage and recorded his best finish since
2003.

Another underdog, D.J. Kennington, had a great run going too until he
wrecked, as did Steve Wallace.

Lepage's move was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a driver do
at Talladega.

Steve Wallace had a great run going in the top 10 (and for a long time
was in 3rd) until that wreck, which took out most of the best cars left.

In fairness to Lepage, look where EVERY OTHER car merges onto the track,
same as Kevin did. Go back and watch after pitstops where they merge.
The only difference is that there was the pack coming up, had the wreck
never happened it would not have even been discussed.

As for Gunselman, he is an idiot. Everyone knows that when there is a
wreck you CAUTIOUSLY slow down. Also everyone knows what goes up must
come down so he should of stayed high.

Morgan Shepherd got around $20,000 for running the entire race and
finishing 13th. If he would've ran one lap and pulled off the track, he
would've gotten $17,000. Doesn't seem like it's worth possibly getting
hurt or tearing up your only car for an extra $3,000.

Lepage probably lost the respect of the NASCAR garage with the
combination of that move, and what he said in the interview.

Shame so many good runs were ruined by his stupidity... but kudos to all
the underdogs notching top-20 finishes.

I think Kevin could have handled that whole thing better, but Kevin
Lepage has never proven much to me. First time in 3 years I think that
no one flipped in this race but Carl sure tried!

Cut off the Lepage bashing. Everyone makes mistakes. I will guarentee
that ALL of you have made mistakes in your life and regret them and may
of made excuses or blamed others. If you don't think you are one of
these NORMAL people that make mistakes then, I guess you are PERFECT,
which i doubt. He made a mistake. In fact, now that I thought about it,
Larry Gunselman is not an idiot, he made a mistake. So I take that

That's all well and good, dude. People do make mistakes. However, in a
sport where a mistake can cost people lives, he should've used his head
a little more in that situation. When I see a pack of cars coming and I
know I'm not going to be up to speed with them, I would move out of the way.

Bobby Hamiliton, Jr. wins this race on the Busch Regular-O-Meter,
Leffler second and Mark Green an awesome third.

Kertus Davis and Morgan: Awesome job avoiding wrecks and getting good
finishes.

Yeah, the comments about Lepage being suspended for life are indeed
stupid. Heaven forbid a guy should make a mistake. If his name were

Moragn Shepard!!!!!....great run agian for the second straight race. for
the ageless wonder....I wish Childress or Hendrick would give him a
chance in a few races...also I hope Franchitti is better for
Richmond...those t-bone crashed just make me kringe. Also Davis and
Nuenberger great runs....but I am so so happy for Morgan Shepard.

I give Kevin Lepage kudos for apologizing for what was an admittedly
boneheaded move. I do not believe he should be "suspended for life" for
doing something stupid and causing a wreck, as Kyle Busch does that
every single week and the media loves him. (Not to mention Steven "hit
everything but the pace car" Wallace. Can anyone say nepotism?)

What Lepage did was incredibly dumb, stupid, and ridiculously dangerous,
but then again, this sport has been chalk full of dumb, stupid, and
ridiculously dangerous things in its day. Heck, Tim Flock used to race
with a monkey in his car.

I'm willing to forgive & forget, so long as it doesn't happen again.

If it were a person named Edwards or Earnhardt, Darrell, that wouldn't
have happened. Lepage's "mistake" could have very easily killed
somebody, and it wasn't even a mistake. His spotter told him to stay
low, and he ignored that, and pulled up in front of the pack anyway. It
almost seems like he did it intentionally.

After seven handlings, Morgan Shepherd did a great job at age 66
finishing 13th. By the way, Dario Franchitti hurt his ankle and replaced
by David Stremme.

Kyle Krisiloff's wrecked just as many times as Steve Wallace, and Kyle's
run 4 less races. As for Steve, he's been an innocent victim in 3 of his
crashes this year.

Yeah, Steven has had a heck of a year with alot of improvement.
He was in the top 5 when he got caught up in the big one in this race.
At Daytona he was spun by Brad Keselowski.
And at Las Vegas he was in the top 10 when he spun and hit the wall. Hes
having a great year and is showing alot of improvement so go home.

Lepage should not have apologized. he was way cooler during his
interview where he was just one of the best heels in nascar in a while.
come on the interview was actually awesome(from entertainment). he was
wrong all the way from the perspective of common sense, but nascar
probably allowed what he did, and just claimed that in the meeting we
said they had to wait to merge.... to me thats just nascar covering its
self.

What he said is true. Nascar just made the stuff up, about lepage making
a mistake according to what they had explained. They know he's always
gonna look bad, and he should from a common sense point of view, but the
fact remains nascar just continues to be the clown of sactioning bodies.
They didn't even penalize him, and that says alot right there.

Larry Gunselman and his MSRP team should be banned. They run 20 laps and
park it. If not, they cause wrecks that knock competitive carrs out of
contention, and now cost Dario Franchitti any shot at Rookie of the year
in both Nationwide and Cup.

Willy on Wheels, you must not be familiar with how the ROTY award works.

NASCAR pools together the best finishes a driver has, but a full season
is not required.

Anyhow, you can blame Felix Sabates for that now.

of and behind Edwards moved, and edwards pulled the big Uh-Oh and whiped

I Say that Kb2 is darn right here. Note how everyone pins the blame on
the 1996 and 1998 Die hard 500 crashes on everyone else, yet it was a
racing incident and racing incident/Earndharts/Ward burtons fault
respectively?
Beside, there would of been NO WAY that all the cars could of avoided
lepage. We were treated, or as I would truthfully say from what my mom
and dad saw and did, shocked and praying because of a big wreck that
could of killed 2 drivers.
Then that huge t-bone hit...SICK AND WRONG! Normally i use that term to
describe something i don't like in a sexual nature, but I'm using it
here because you do SLOW DOWN WAY DOWN during a caution.

Even though Tony Stewart won, there were only 3 Cup drivers in the top
10. This is why I used to only really watch the plate races in Xfinity.

It made me really mad what Kevin Lepage did. Not only did he pull out in
front of the entire pack and cause a 15 car wreck, he didn't even admit
that he was wrong. Its one thing to make a mistake like that, but when
you can't even take responsibility for what you did and admit that you
were wrong makes it even worse. All he had to do was say I messed up, I
take full responsibility for what I did, I apologize, please forgive me;
but no he blamed other drivers for something that he did.

Only time that a car fielded by the renowned S&P team of 2008-2009, MSRP
Motorsports, was knocked out in a crash. And it was a brutal one.

It would be the the last time Gunselman would drive for the team, but he
would start eight more races that year, one for Derrike Cope, and seven
for Johnny Davis.

Morgan Shepherd would have only 1 more finish in his career this high in

If you watch the race and they showed the cars in the crash graphic when
the Lap 68 Big One happened they didn't mention Jason Keller his car was
one of the cars involved in that wreck they just didn't see him but you
can clearly see his Incredible Pizza car was in the wreck.
