Joey Logano's first start is a good one. He got a lot of hype, but I
think he proved that he was worth it.

Sadly, this may be the last start for the 61 team, as their lack of
sponsorship is probably going to force them to close up shop.

The usual bellyaching from Kyle Busch in his interview...hypocritical at
best considering how many bonehead moves he has pulled this year.

Yeah, Darrell. Its unfortunate because the 61 had a few top 20's I
believe early in the season and they have NO Cup affiliations.

Joey Logano is the real deal.
Kyle Busch is an idiot. Leffler (his teamate for th race) got loose and
took them both out. In his interview Busch crys about how he has a
teamate who can't stand to be #2 to him. What is wrong with Kyle Busch?
Alot of things.
Great job to Hamlin, Edwards, Stremme, and of course Joey Logano.

Another good run for Steve. Bad qualifying run, but he kept his nose
clean all day and worked it up to an 11th place finish. A good sign of
maturity there. Next week is his best track (Nashville) maybe a win?

I cant imagine what he could do in a Gibbs car, or even like a Finch, or

If what Leffler did was irresponsible driving, what about what he did to
Jr at Richmond? Or Benson at Martinsville? He claimed those were "just
racing". I HATE him.

Well first off I knew when I saw Joey Logano domintate here in Phoenix
in the west race last year I knew he was the real deal. I cant wait to
see him in cup.

And MORGAN!!! keep showing everyone you still got it!!! I cant wait for
the three week run when Busch runs seperate from cup....I think Morgan
can maybe pull off a top 10 or top 15

publicity farce. Others that finished in the top 10 their first time out
were Todd Kluever, David Stremme and Chase Montgomery, with "B" teams at
best. How have they worked out?

Todd Kluever drove for Roush which is not a "B" team when he made his
debut and finished in the top 10.

I've grown tired of the Logano hype already. The kid's going to get a
massive ego and having him around KyBusch will just make things worse.
Good job on the top ten first time out, but let's not declare him the
savior of NASCAR until he takes down a couple checkered flags.

As far as all the J.Lo hype, while I suspect that Logano may be a real
good driver (and even if he isn't one yet, he'll sure LOOK like it with
that equipment), I hope he doesn't get too big of an ego and adopt an
asshole attitude, a la his big-eared teammate.

"Sliced Bread"? Gayest. Nickname. Ever.

Joey can't help what label others may stick him with, but he better not
take that stupid nickname anywhere near seriously.

Joey Logano a disapointment? Come on now. Why don't you smoke another
one. He finished 6th in his first career start after gettin shuffled to
the back because of a pit road problem in what is by far the worst pit
road in Nascar. Not to mention who the hell else goes out and drives
that clean and finishes that high in their first career start AT ONLY
18??? Oh, and how about the fact that Dover is one of the more
physically demanding and mentally challanging tracks on the circuit???
You're all just haters. You all hate Busch, Stewart, Hamlin and now
Logano too??? You're all just jealous and can't stand to watch real
talent whip on love boys like JJ, Gordon, Kahne and Junior.

Baker, the answer to your question of who else has done it? Todd
Kluever, David Stremme and Chase Montgomery all had top 10's in their
first outing. Not that he doesnt have talent, but he doesnt even come
close to the hype that has been put out by his paid handlers.

haha David Stremme was 7th, not 6th and it was at a much easier track,
Nashville, to drive than Dover. 16 cars fell out of the race and there
were ZERO big names in that race as compared to Denny Hamlin, Carl
Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Greg Biffle, Kyle Busch ect.

Chase Montgomery finished 10th again not as high as 6th and it was on
one of the two easiest tracks in Nascar to drive. It's all about luck
getting through the wrecks and then anyone can get a top 10 there.

Todd Kluever again 7th and not as high as Logano and again on a much
easier track to drive.

Also Stremme was 26, Chase Montgomery was 19 and Todd Kluever was 28.
Joey Logano was 18 and 7 freaking days.

Haters. End of story.

Race was delayed for rain almost 3 hours. Then when they were drying the
pits, the dryers caused a piece of asphalt to blow off the ground.

Hahaha obviously you don't pay attention to any of my post. Hype or not
I'm going to be a huge time Joey Logano fan. Ever noticed how I am
always talking up Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano
and Marc Davis??? Can someone please point out to Drake what all 5 of
those drivers have in common??? Joey Logano is going to be a dominate
driver and I hope to God he is another driver who the fans can't stand
because guys like Rowdy, Smoke and Denny are thriving off of it right
now. I don't think Joey is as brash as those other 3, but I hope he
learns it. It makes for excitement every week. Leave the humbleness crap
to guys who aren't confident enough in their abilities to come off as
cocky.

I do like some humble drivers: Vickers, Ragan and Edwards, but this
sport is missing its Dale Earnhardt/Darrell Waltrip type rivalry right now.

wallacefan.... morgan was driving a khi car with a different nose, and
his motors make plenty of power. he wouldn't run much better in anything
else. anyway, he's had the $ to show up for the past 2 years full time,
so obviously he can afford a tire or two. especially considering he buys
a new car every time he wrecks one.

Looks like all the Logano hype was unwarranted. He's done nothing in Cup
minus a fluke rainout victory and in Nationwide he's just another guy
getting beat by Kyle Busch every week. He should have more wins than he
does with the equipment he has.

As much as we complain about Cup drivers in Xfinity nowadays, look how
many Cup regulars participated in this race. Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards,
David Reutimann, Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, Kasey Kahne, Dario
Franchitti, Kevin Harvick, Sam Hornish, Jr., Kyle Busch and David Ragan
were all full-time Cup drivers in '08, so that makes 11 of 43 cars, or
26%. Today's races aren't much better, but even I, who advocates for way
fewer Cup drivers in Xfinity, will acknowledge that we have made some
progress.

Still nothing against 2006 Dollar General 300 at Charlotte - 21 Cup
drivers participated in that race and 17 of them had a full-time Cup ride.

The racing back in 08 Busch was a lot better though, they still had the
old car without the splitter and tapered spacer. Plus the schedule still
had some standalones and short tracks.

And despite all of that, Joe Gibbs Racing still managed to win 19 races
and would have 20, if Kyle Busch in the weaker car of Todd Braun Racing
didn't hold off the superior car of Denny Hamlin.
