Ok, not really a miracle, but still, it's nice to see him live up to the hype and become the youngest winner in NASCAR history. If I were Gibbs, I'd fire Busch and put this kid in the 18 Cup ride full-time. 2. DaleJrFan17 posted: 06.15.2008 - 9:33 am Rate this comment: (0) (2) Nice job! Last time I checked, Logano isn't a dirty driver at all, unlike Kyle "I Get All Pissed When Someone Even Tries To Pass Me And I Spin Them Out" Busch. Kentucky's kind of got a trend now for Nationwide drivers winning their first race there now. Gilliland, Leicht, and Logano now. 4. Dan posted: 06.15.2008 - 10:39 am Rate this comment: (4) (0) Yeah, fire Kyle Busch who's won 4 races and is the points leader. You'd make a hell of a businessman, Darrell. 5. I know it may not make much sense now, but Logano is going to end up accomplishing more than Busch will. 7. Anonymous posted: 06.15.2008 - 2:05 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Firing Kyle Busch is a big mistake. It would be like firing Dale Earnhardt back in the 1980's. It is good thing Darrel is not a car owner. Kyle Busch's driving style is similar to a Dale Earnhardt's back in the 1980's. Earnhardt was not a clean Driver and was very agressive on the race track. Busch is a driver you love or hate on the race track. Sponsers like that. A driver like that brings more attention to Nascar and a lot of attention to himself. Nascar needed a race villian and Kyle is that villian. Nascar is at its best when the fans have someone to boo. Waltrip, Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace were great examples of being racing villians. Busch is too wreckless at time, but his style makes him win a lot of times this year. It is too soon to bring Joey to cup. Logano needs a year or two in Nationwide. Logano could be the next Casey Atwood at this time. Joey wouldn't be replacing Kyle anyway. He would be replacing stewart. 8. WallaceFan posted: 06.15.2008 - 3:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Joey Logano is the real deal. That kid is just stright good. Nice to see Kyle Busch wreck, and then say hes done driving Busch. GOOD! Great runs for Wimmer, Mike Wallace, Clauson, Ambrose, Keller and James Buescher. I think Mike Wallace couldve challenged for the win if he had not had a bad pit stop earlier. 9. WallaceFan posted: 06.15.2008 - 3:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Tough race for Steve. Finally got into the Lucky Dog spot, when he and Edwards made contact under caution, sending Steve spining. Edwards admitted it was his fault, and Steve shurgged it off saying he knew it wasnt on purpose. Nice to see that after the contact last year when they were 1-2 here. Still 17th spot isnt too bad, hes showing alot of maturity, and im sure the wins will come. 10. WallaceFan posted: 06.15.2008 - 3:42 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oh yea, Mark Green is awsome. Besides Daytona where he wrecked, he has all top 28's this year. Which is great for an underfunded car. 11. Dodge posted: 06.15.2008 - 6:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) If I remember right, the reason why Mark Green wrecked at Daytona was because the 14 of David Gilliland caused the wreck and Green had no where to go. So yes, that is accurate, the 70 is a good team when they show up. 12. Baker posted: 06.16.2008 - 12:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Where are all you Logano haters now??? Hate to say it, but I told you so. Fire Kyle Busch? You've all gone nuts. Nascar needs this guy and they need him to stay the same firey aggresive drive he is...they don't need to tame him. He is great for sponsers, tv ratings, sales etc. Also Logano IS NOT replacing anyone at Joe Gibbs racing. He is going to be racing WITH Busch, Hamlin and Stewart. You're allowed to field 4 cars and Gibbs will do just that. Where is the guy who tried busting my balls saying I just couldn't stand the critics just because I bought into the Logano hype? haha where are you at now? 13. Out side of Kyle Busch, there wasn't any real challenge. Plus Logano is driving a Joe Gibbs Toyota. They have a bit of an advantage (as all Toyota's do) in the engine. I like him, but I'll be more impressed if he can win in a place like Charrlotte or Daytona aginst Harvick, Kenseth and even Hamlin or Stewart, or even Kyle B. 15. Rusty posted: 06.16.2008 - 11:25 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) How about some props to Bryan Clauson coming in 5th. Plus, Mike Wallace probably had the fastest car on the track, but he kept losing a ton of spots on pit road, he might have had something for Logano if he would've come off pit road on that final stop in atleast 7th or so rather than 13th. 16. DaleSrFanForever posted: 06.16.2008 - 12:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I somewhat agree with Darrell. I think in the long run the Kyle Busch experiment will blow up in their face. But I would definitely hang on to him now while he is hot. The problem is that he is stepping on so many toes right now, as soon as the field catches up to him, they will make life very difficult for him. He has bought into his own hype so much that he will only get angrier and do even worse. He is just an extremely immature person who can't handle the talent and attention he is recieving. And make no mistake, the field will catch up. I know in his immature mind, he thinks he will have the advantage forever, but he won't. Look at Hendrick this year with Gordon and Johnson. Suddenly they are amongst the pack again. But they have the maturity to handle it. Kyle doesn't. In the end, Kyle will be much more trouble than he is worth. 17. Baker posted: 06.16.2008 - 4:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oh now Logano didn't have competition??? First ya'll come off with David Stremme, Chase Montgomery and Todd Kluever comparisons when he has a Top 10 his first run ever and now when he is the youngest driver to ever win ya'll come off with Casey Atwood comparisons? Unbelieveable. Atwood was young, but he was 30 races into his career when he picked up that first win. Ya'll just can't stand to see a real talent like Joey Logano who is going to whipp all on the racing world in the next 30 years. Sorry Earnhardt fans, but Junior will never be as good as his dad and Hendricks fans are just crapping their pants because Joe Gibbs is now going to own them with Busch, Logano, Hamlin and Stewart easily better than the 4 at Hendricks. 18. Anonymous posted: 06.16.2008 - 9:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I didn't even compare Lagano to David Stremme, Chase Montgomery and Todd Kluever. The amount of time winning a race in Nationwide is not a good measuring stick. Some Drivers are better in cup than in Busch or Nationwide. Jimmie Johnson only won one race in Busch before going to cup. Jeff Gorden didn't win a lot before going to cup despite being one of the best young talents ever. Atwood was considered a real talent at the time. Rookie Drivers were not suppose to win right away back in Atwood's time. Baker, you are comparing 2 different eras. They are night and day. Nationwide series has a lot of times with Cup connections. That was not the case back in the 1990's. Joey got in a great ride. He is a great talent, but Rookie Drivers usually didn't get into great rides. Rookies drivers went to new teams or teams have a couple years in Busch with average sucess. Dale Jr was the exception to the rule. Matt Kenseth didn't get into a good ride. The team grew with him. What made Casey a bust was maturity, start up cup organization, and an owner not patient with him. Casey was starting to get results end of the 2001 season, when he was forced out. Jeff Gorden's first years in cup were filled with crashes. Sponsors and Cup owners are known to forget that. A unwritten rule for a new cup organization is don't hire a rookie driver. That mistake happened time over time. That was a factor in Atwoods failure EMS. See Red Bull, Carl Walls, Foyt as examples as hiring a rookie driver despite being a new team. They took chances on drivers with little or no experience in cup. The 84 team is now getting better, but took them putting Mike Skinner in the car before putting A.J. back in. A.J. couldn't give the team info on what is wrong with the car. That rule doesn't always apply to proven cup organization with a new time. Hendrick is a prime example of that. Hundrick had the people already in place. New race organizations doesn't have that luxary. When a longtime team is not going good with a new team, it is the organization or the driver. Atwood's amount of races going before winning is missleading. Atwood was not at a good team in 1998. The teams he drove for did nothing Busch before going to Brewco. They were a good Busch series racing organization, but they started a new team with casey and their organization didn't win a race. Casey was the first driver in the 27 car. It was a brand new race team. Dale Jr. went into a proven Busch series organization. He had an advantage over casey. Atwood won 2 races in 1999. Dale jr.'s Busch team was really a cup team. Atwood was labeled as the next great Nascar Driver after that year. Hendrick was looking at Atwood before Evernham signed him. Atwood was called the next Jeff Gorden back in 1999 or 2000. It was a big deal when Atwood won 2 times in 1999. Dale Jr, Jeff Green and Matt Kenseth were the Busch regulars to beat in Busch at the time. I didn't Say Lagano didn't have talent. I saw that talent on tv. I am more concerned about him being rushed into cup. I also thought Kyle and Kurt were a little rushed into cup. Both are great drivers, but booth needed an extra year in trucks or Busch. Kyle won 2 times in his rookie year, but it leaves the question of what could've done with a 2nd year in Busch. I think Kyle needed a 2nd year. I recalled Jack saying he rushed Kurt into cup. Kurts 2001 results prove that. I've seen too many driver being rushed into cup from Busch, truks or open Wheel. I can make a list of drivers.I rather not mention them. A case be made that it is caused equipment or talent of the driver. Baker, you can't call me an earnhardt fan only. I a fan of Stewart, Harvick, Kenseth. I never said Jr had the talent of dad. Jr is a good, not great drover. Jr has good talent, but he is not in the same league as his dad and their driving styles don't compare. Jr always been a great plate track driver and is a very good Cup driver at race tracks that are a Mile or less. 7 out of his 18 wins came at 1 mile or less. Jr has to have some talent to do that. He is hot or cold at Cookie Cutter Tracks and is not a good road curse Driver. The issue with Jr is he can't carry a 20th place car into the top 5 and is no where close in being agressive to his dad. Jr gave away some wins as result like at short tracks. His dad's aggressive driven allowed him to win a lot of races. I compare Kyle to Dale Sr as a result as drivers. Drivers having smilar driving abilities of a Dale Sr. doesn't come often. Stewart. Hamilin, Busch and Joey will not be on the same team for long. I am given the impression that Stewart will be leaving Gibbs after 2009. 19. DaleSrFanForver posted: 06.17.2008 - 3:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Whoever made the post on 6-16-08 at 9:52 pm, I agree with you. Some of the greatest drivers currently in Cup did little in Busch. Gordon, Johnson and Stewart are prime examples. You are also right about Atwood. I think Ray got too impatient with a young driver in a start up organization. The fact is this: Only one driver has won championships in both Busch and Cup, Bobby Labonte. It is just a totally different world. And I agree with you about Dale Jr. It is unfair to compare him to his dad because nobody had the ability Dale Sr had (even Kyle Busch; seriously, stop the comparisons). What bothers me about Dale Jr is his lack of passion and pure desire. After the Michigan win in the press conference, Tony Jr said something to the effect of "We have a fire inside, but not an inferno" while Dale Jr sat there nodding. All the greats had a raging, towering inferno inside. 20. Baker posted: 06.18.2008 - 3:40 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Please... You act as if Dale Earnhardt is God. He was talented, but it's not like others can't match him. And Kyle Busch does have just as much if not more talent than Earnhardt did. Earnhardt was 28 when he won his first race. Kyle Busch has him beat by damn near a decade and he's only going to get better just like everyone else does. Dale Senior is just lucky that Davey Allison, Tim Richmond and Alan Kulwicki died when they did or else he'd only have about 5 championships and 55-60 wins. Oh and lets not forget Rusty Wallace's team folding and Bill Elliott's divorce and other issues. Things fell into place just so that Earnhardt could win races and championships as often as he did. He was great, but others were better and some lesser thought of names had just as much talent. 21. 88drake posted: 06.18.2008 - 9:13 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Baker... You sure can't think for yourself can you. I don't think you really know anything about Logano. You fall for all this hype that they have fed the media. Logano isnt doing any better than anyone else with average talent would do in the same situation with Gibbs stuff. I bet you believe all the crap from Mark ("I'm sooo sorry") Martin too... don't you! 22. Can you tell me what all my drivers I support have in common??? Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, and Marc Davis hmmm... Just man up and admit you were WRONG. 23. DaleSrFanForever posted: 08.16.2008 - 9:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Baker, you are way off base. First of all, Dale didn't get a ride until he was 28 because that is how it was back in those days. They didn't just give good rides to people in their early 20's. You had to do what Dale did, toil for a few years in underfunded cars and prove you aren't overwhelmed. Heck, in 1979 he was considered very young to be on the Cup circuit. You talk about "if this..." or "if that..." well IF Dale was given a big time Cup ride at 20 years old, there is no telling what numbers he would have put up. So Busch hasn't "beat" Dale by a decade, that is ridiculous. Another thing, he wasn't coddled to be a racer from his infancy. All drivers nowadays like Gordon, Stewart, Logano, and Kyle were put in go karts, quarter midgets, or legends cars from the age of 5 or 6 and groomed as racers. Dale didn't start racing until well into his teens. And his Dad, although a short track legend, didn't give him anything initially. He had to prove to Ralph that he was serious before Ralph began helping him. Imagine if Ralph would have groomed Dale from 5 years old and sacrificed everything for him to get a top Cup ride at 21!!! And you talk about Rusty's team folding or Bill getting a divorce, but guess what: THE SAME THINGS HAPPENED TO DALE!!!!! After winning his first championship, his team folded halfway through the next year, causing Dale to bounce around for the next 3 years before settling at RCR. That is time he could have been putting up even more numbers. Afterwards he won 6 more championships. After Rusty's team folded, he never won another championship. And the divorce thing: DALE WAS DIVORCED TWICE!!! Before he even got his full time Cup ride and established himself, he had to deal with two divorces and three children. It didn't derail him. And to say he is "lucky" those guys died: That is just sick and doesn't even deserve comment. 25. samfan08 posted: 08.18.2008 - 2:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree that it's a little wrong to say he was "lucky" that Allison, Kulwicki, and Richmond died, but I can see the point. Had those 3 lived, they would have cut into Dale's win totals and possibly championship totals, and the same for Jeff Gordon. Unfortantely, they died and we don't know for sure. It doesn't make what Dale or Jeff did any less impressive. 26. earnhardt88/3 posted: 10.12.2008 - 6:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) joey logano is a good racecar driver. but i think joe gibbs is really makin a big mistake. logano is too young and he needs more experience in the nationwide series. logano will be the next casey atwood of the cup series. i'm not sayin this because i'm a earnhardt fan. i'm just sayin, if logoan can race the nationwide series for two more years, then he will have more experience. Kyle Busch had to go to the rear as a result of the driver change. Josh Wise was entered in the No. 22 Fitz Motorsports car along with his substitution duties. Kevin Hamlin practiced the No. 22 car in Wise's place. (Hamlin actually ranked higher on the speed chart than Wise.) Chad Blount was on-hand for the No. 38 team, but didn't turn any laps in the car as Leffler made it to the track for the lone practice session. Clements was by far the most impressive of the six substitute drivers, as he ranked 2nd in practice and qualified the No. 18 car in 7th place. It's too bad he never got a chance to race for Joe Gibbs Racing afterwards. 36.
