He and Kes went side by side, and he got into the 88's left front fender..basically ruining Keselowskis day. He got into Bowyer in the pits. Pitroad seems to be Joey's only weakness..as he has had about 3 diff poat road incidents. Carl Edwards basically spun Bowyer out for the win..but apologized for it. He also got a whole lot of boo's from the fans for not doing a backfip. He did a polish victory lap instead in honor of Scott Kalitta, who died hours before in a NHRA Crash. Very nice guesture by Carl. Good race overally..great runs by Mark Green, Buescher, Stanton Barret, and Landon Cassill.who struggled near the end. 2. Qualified 19th...was up to 11th, when he pancaked the wall..dropped to 31rst one lap down when the caution came out. Got the lucky dog, made it back up into the top 20. Took two tires on a late pit stop to take the lead. Dropped back to about 8th..when he was involved in an incident with the lap car of Chase Miller (who wrecked about 3 times) He got into the back of Miller, who spun up and clipped Steves front fender. He dropped back to 22, but managed a 19th place finish. Overall tough day..but great job by Steve to stick with it and salvage a top 20. Hes really showing a lot of maturity this year. 3. Wow, he had some great rides back in the day (Brewco mainly) but only managed 1 top 5. Now with the Only Mother Daughter owned team in Nascar..he is driving the best he ever has..dunno what to say other than Congrats and Keep it Up MARK! 4. It was one of the more exciting races at the track for Nascar races. I heard about Scott Kalitta 's death by Brad Keselowski mentioning it after winning the pole. Everyone in the grand stand heard Brad mentioning this. Brad Keselowski screwed up on turn 3. He should've let Joey go.. Brad did something, you are not supposed to due at turn 3 at the Milwaukee Mile. I saw several drivers making his mistake through the years at the Milwaukee Mile at rurn 3. This was Carl First win since Last June in Busch/Nationwide. I thought Joey was able get Carl. Joey had the fast car on the track for a time there. 5. 88drake posted: 06.23.2008 - 11:31 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Wallacefan, What are you smokin? You said "Hes really showing a lot of maturity this year". HOW STUPID DO YOU THINK EVERYONE ELSE IS TO BELIEVE THAT! Steven wallace has only had 3 top 10's in 69 races. He wrecks or wrecks someone in nearly every race, has no respect and is generally an idiot, both on and off the track. He could never get a job with ANY TEAM but his dads. YOU MUST BE RELATED TO HIM!! You must not have watched the race. Chase Miller (#9 car) didnt wreck 3 times. He was spun once and it was by a stupid move of wallace running into the back of him. Then after the #9 collected the car, wallace ran into the back of the #9 again, tearing his own fender up and the #9. The #9 was only the latest victim of wallace. Wallace wrecked himself earlier in the race. Last week he wrecked carl edwards. He wrecked people at Nashville, at Lowes he wrecked in qualifing and AGAIN in the race when he wrecked Leffler... IT GOES ON AND ON!!! What is the crash count up to? How many people has he wrecked just this year? How many cars has he wrecked in qualifing, practice and the race. I would bet that he has wrecked more than any 3 drivers combined 6. DaleSrFanForever posted: 06.23.2008 - 12:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I hate that for Brad. Nobody could touch him after 5 laps on tires. He got his fender ruined while waiting for his tires to heat up and it ruined his day. At least Joey took credit for it. He just needs to be careful not to piss too many people off. It is bad enough he has this tremendous profile of being the greatest thing since sliced bread. People already are gonna want to take him down a few pegs, he can't give them any more motivation. 7. DaleSrFanForever posted: 06.23.2008 - 12:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree with you 88drake. Yeah, Steve has shown some improvement, but compared to what? Last year was the worst year I have ever seen any driver have, when you consider overall results and crashed race cars. That is like saying being in a coma is an improvement over being dead. Yeah, it is true, but still!! Consider 2007 for Steve: Zero Top 10's and only 8 lead lap finishes in 34 starts. Are you serious??? I had to double check that. Almost anything would be an improvement. With the watered down competition this year, he should be doing much better. He is 12th in points, but only 13 other drivers have started every Nationwide race this year. That is pitiful. The only reason he is being kept is because his dad owns the team. Would Rusty be that patient with anyone else? Billy Parker was released after only EIGHT races in 2004 despite the fact that RWI was a START UP ORGANIZATION!! Anyone else would have been canned eons ago. And one other thing: He crashed in the GARAGE AREA in pre season Daytona testing. 8. WallaceFan posted: 06.23.2008 - 4:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) DaleSrFan and Drake, you guys have no respect and obviously don't pay attention. Steve will win this year, and will be running cup full time by 2010. I don't think you realize he's 20 years old. And he has shown great improvement. And he DEFINITELY did not wreck Carl Edwards last week. Carl even admitted that was his fault. So get your facts straight. 9. 88drake posted: 06.23.2008 - 6:42 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) WallaceFan... Keep totin on what your smokin. If he he in cup it will be for his dad. No one else will have him. If being only 20 is an excuse, then go somewhere else until he grows up. You know, that would be a good idea! 10. Anonymous posted: 06.24.2008 - 11:28 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm pretty sure Drake that Kyle Busch has wrecked in more Nationwide races than Steven Wallace this year ;) Oh and I atteneded this race. Jerick Johnson had to be at least 15 mph off the pace NASCAR should have black flagged him WAY earlier. Oh and if Jason Keller's pit crew was a little faster Jason Keller could have won this race (and possibly others). 11. Anonymous posted: 06.24.2008 - 11:31 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oh and this was Kenny Wallace' 400th start (Surprised no one mentioned it.) Probably the first time in series history two drivers who had 400 starts raced against each other (Kenny and Jason Keller). 12. WallaceFan posted: 06.24.2008 - 12:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I don't think you really understand much about racing. I'm going to leave it at that. 13. DaleSrFanForever posted: 06.24.2008 - 2:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) That loud *gulp* you just heard was all the Cup drivers when they found out Steve Wallace would be in Cup in 2010. He can't even run 200 or 250 mile races without running into everything, what will happen when he has 500 miles to cause carnage? In much more difficult cars to drive? The races will take six hours to run due to all the cautions he will cause. One reason for his "improvement" this year is the new engine rules slowing the cars down. When you consider that along with the incredible amount of downforce the Nationwide cars have (relative to the COT), that has allowed Steve to "omly" crash 5 or six time this year (with other times getting a fender ripped off) as opposed to 8 or 9 by this point last year. If he were driving the COT, holy crap, there is no telling how many crashes he would have had. And I never said Kentucky was his fault this year (as opposed to Kentucky last year). Trust me, we don't have to invent reasons to criticize Steve. And yes: Kyle Busch has wrecked a lot more, but he also wins a lot more. That is the thing with Steve, he wrecks AND he doesn't run up front. Double trouble. Oh, and one other thing: Dale was way better than Rusty. 14. New88Fan posted: 06.27.2008 - 10:36 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Can we all just lay off Steve Wallace, it might not look like much now, but he has improved in some areas like finishing races (on the lead lap I might add). However, saying he'll be in Cup in 2010 is like saying Logano will be in Cup next year. He needs at least another year or two before even considering Cup, that'll give him time to develop his skills and prehaps win a race maybe. Then we can decide if he's ready for Cup or not. Until then, leave him be. Oh and DaleSrFan, what does Dale being "better" than Rusty have to do with any of this? Sure Big E was the king of the plate tracks, but Rusty (plus Ricky Rudd, Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon) ruled the road courses. When you combine those plus their driving styles, they're bascially equal. Dale just had more wins and championships. 15. WallaceFan posted: 06.28.2008 - 11:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Thank you 88fan, you seem to understand what I'm getting at without being biased toward any drivers. Steve will drive the full year in busch agian next year, and if he continues to improve, hopefully finish in the top 5 or top 10. He's had some great runs ever since his top 10 at Mexico City. Another thing to point out is that his two best finishes (5) were in companion races at Richmond and Darlington. At Richmond he was the highest finishing non cup driver, and at Darlington he was second. So I think he's showing alot of improvement. 16. But I'm just not sure he has it in him. He makes a ton of mental errors out there, it may have something to do with his tourettes possibly. My brother has it and it bothers him while doing things. But I like Steve a lot, and would love for him to perform, but I'm not sure he will ever do it. I unfortunatly also have to agree that if it was anyone else, he'd be gone. 17. Rusty | 06.28.08 - 3:47 pm That might be true, but than again not everyone's gonna be a Joey Logano or Martin Truex Jr. who wins and/or contends for a championship in their first year on the tour. David Green, Jason Keller, Todd Bodine and Randy LaJoie didn't exactly start out with a bang either and look how they came out. Also, how many cars did Jeff Gordon crash in his rookie season? 18. New88Fan | 06.27.08 - 10:36 pm ummm.... isn't that how you judge greatness?? Honestly, you can't be serious!! If he has more wins and championships, THEN HE IS BETTER!!! And don't give me the whole "he is only good on plate tracks". That is a complete load of crap. Everyone talks about how great Rusty is because he won 9 times at Bristol. Rusty brags about that more that his championships. There is just one little thing: DALE ALSO WON NINE RACES AT BRISTOL!!! Dale has 27 short track wins as compared to 25 for Rusty the "king of short tracks". Good, but not as good as Dale. It is just that Dale was good on ALL tracks, even the road courses. Yes he only won once, but he didn't run bad there. He actually has a better average finish at Riverside, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen than Rusty. Yes, wins are the most important thing, but he wasn't a slouch on the road by ANY stretch of the imagination. In addition to 9 wins at Bristol, he has nine wins at Darlington (as opposed to none for Rusty), Atlanta, and ten wins at Talladega. Four totally different tracks, but Dale ruled all of them. It is called versatility. Yes, Rusty is an all time great, but your argument is pathetic. 19. Mike Skinner, Reutimann's substitute driver, was the most impressive of the five that weekend, as he ranked 3rd after both practice sessions. Erik Darnell ranked 2nd in the second practice session. 26. YRF0006 posted: 12.20.2018 - 5:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Manufacturer Correction Jerick Johnson's #4 car was a Chevrolet 27.
