If Dale Earnhardt Jr. would have won this race you would have never said anything about cup guys winning in the "minor leagues". 3. Major league players do NOT belong in the minor leagues!!! Do you see MLB players deciding.. "Oh, I'll go down and play this AAA series because I want everybody to see what a pro I am.. I can do SO much better than these no-names!" NO, you DON'T!!!!! Once you move up, you're up.. if they want the cup drivers to run... limit them to say, 7 races.... that way they can still run their Daytona, Charlotte, Atlanta and bigger races, but NOT the entire season!!! 6. Only 2 of the top ten are over 30 years old, and Kyle Busch and David Ragan are the only 2 cup drivers. Great race for Colin Braun, Bliss, Wise, Gale, Cassill, Logano, Steve, Ambrose, Edwards (who was 3 laps down) and just about everyone else. Randy Lajoie had a great quote during qualifying when seeing a photo of Brain Keselowski... "i guess he beat Brad to the salad bar" PriceLess. 7. He continues to mature and pull together some good runs. I look for another top 10 this week in Montreal. 8. From 3 laps back to an almost top 10 in the last 50 laps at a tight short track. 9. samfan22 posted: 07.27.2008 - 8:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great runs by Colin Braun, Josh Wise, Cale Gale, Landon Cassill, and Steve Wallace. Joey Logano continues to impress. Also a great recovery by Carl Edwards. He made up 2 of 3 laps on the track, then rebounded to 11th on the last green flag run. 10. samfan22 posted: 07.28.2008 - 12:23 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I almost forgot to include a congrats to Brian Keselowski for finishing 15th. Hopefully someone can put him in a decent ride at some point and see if he can come close to what his brother is doing. 11. I'm confident he can walk away with a top-5 or possibly even the win next week, so a good points haul here is exactly what he needed to keep heading towards the top-10 in points. 12. There was lots of 2 and 3 wide racing and great runs for guys who normally don't run at the front. Also gotta make mention of a good run for Shelby Howard running for his truck team, ThorSport Racing. He was in the top 15 for parts of the race and came home with a top 20 finish. 13. #20 (soon to be #14) fan But #48 hater posted: 07.29.2008 - 1:11 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) JOEY LAGANO: DOVER: 6TH NASHVILLE:(POLE) 21ST KENTUCKY: (POLE) 1ST! Not only is crossing the border and racing in a foreign city a logistical nightmare for these Nationwide teams, the race is usually awful. Way too many cautions really stunt the pace. It is just a long and tedious afternoon. Plus the track isn't really capable. This year they took forever on one caution because the wall was bent and they had to pull it back into shape. That shouldn't happen at any track. I hope they move it to Iowa, that seems like a great track. They built its configuration specifically to *gasp* provide great racing. What an amazing concept!! Too bad California, Texas, and Vegas didn't think of this!! 15. Then I saw Sunday's Brickyard (screw you, Allstate) 400. 16. hi posted: 07.29.2008 - 5:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Joey Logano's worst finish is 31st, not 21st. And he SHOULD be putting up good numbers, he drives for the team that's dominating this year. 17. Edwards had problems and made up 3 laps. Great run by Colin Braun, starting on pole and finishing second. The only mistake he made was choosing the outside lane as the polesitter. He could run with Kyle except when they were in lapped traffic Kyle pulled away 19. Is it possible to serve up a reverse of the dreaded "announcer's jinx"? After the seventh yellow came out for an incident involving Brad Teague, Brandon Whitt, Bryan Clauson and others, Marty Reid said that the field might be trying to make a late run at the track record of 13 cautions. Thankfully the last 27 laps ran clean and green to the finish. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
