He hit the rear of Bobby Jr's car and spun straight to the inside wall. Why was he racing that close on LAP ONE?!? That is not what I call "improving a lot" or "showing maturity". And then he tried to blame it on Bobby. At least I think he did, I can't understand his interviews. The points race is getting interesting. It is about time we had an interesting Nationwide points battle after the last two years. Carl and Brad are coming strong while the 2 team is stuck in neutral. A shout out to Brad Keselowski for taking an ill handling car and finishing 11th with it and not losing much in the points. It is sure good to see a Nationwide only driver in the battle. Brad has impressed me so much. He is the true embodiment showing maturity and promise, not S**** W****** who wrecks on LAP ONE. Condolences to Jason Keller's team, you could tell they were really tore up. I wish them the best. 3. They were caught trying to alter the outcome of a chassis dyno test by putting magnets on the accelerator pedals. They put the magnets on the pedals for a reason. The magnets might keep the pedals from being fully depressed, which would limit the engines' output and distort data. The info came from espn. 4. First he sqeezes Tony Stewart into the wall at Pocono and then complains that Tony Stewart should have given him more room like he's someone special or somthing. Now 2 years later he got from the very bottom lane all the way to the second from the top lane and slams into Reutimann and still complains that it was Reutimann's fault and that he felt he should have moved up and given him room as if he was someone special again. Shut up Clint. The only driver with any class in that entire organization is Jeff Burton. He needs to teach Bowyer and Harvick a thing or two. 5. He didnt blame it on anyone during his interview, but mature move on DaleSrFan's part to make fun of him for his disability. 6. Also great runs for Edwards, Vickers, Logano, Leffler, and Bires. 7. This was pobably the only race so far this year that he has looked like 2007Steve Wallace. Expect a good race for him this coming week at Bristol. Just a note for those who read for info. DaleSrFan seems to just be here to put others down without the facts, so steer clear of him if you can. 8. DaleSrFanForever posted: 08.17.2008 - 6:38 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree Baker, Jeff Burton is much better to have around. Clint is just so incredibly frustrated he is doing stupid things now. I have a feeling he'll cough this points race away. One other things, I just now read some of your comments on the Kentucky page and responded. 10. Clayton posted: 08.17.2008 - 7:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) They should penalize JGR a lot of points, but We'll see! I mean maybe TOYOTA will pay NASCAR a lot of money, and NASCAR will forget about it! 11. He now has a decent buffer over Jason Keller and both he and Jason Leffler are catching Mike Wallace. Good to see a decent points fight between the Nationwide only lads. Regrading JGR cheating - I hope NASCAR throws the book at them. A Cup team feeling the need to cheat in the Nationwide series is dispicable and they need to make an example of them. 12. WallaceFan posted: 08.18.2008 - 1:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I like how JD Gibbs said they knew nothing about it and it was just 1 or 2 guys who screwed up. They should take some MAJOR points and money away. Im talking 250+ owner points and 250,000+ for EACH team. No slaps on the wrist, this has affected the whole season. 15. DaleSrFanForever posted: 08.19.2008 - 11:27 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) So let me get this straight WallaceFan, you can call Keselowski a "bucktooth buckaroo" on the first Daytona comments page and say "his head is as big as his overbite" on the Gateway page and that is OK. You are such a hypocrite. And Facts?? I give facts all the time, all you do is say The Driver Who Shall Not Be Named is "showing improvement" and "maturing" while he wrecks or causes other to wreck every other week. You want facts, here are some facts: Brad Keselowski: 59 starts, 1 win, 8 Top 5s, 19 Top 10s, 293 laps led, 30 lead lap finishes, 132 points back currently Rusty's son: 77 starts, 0 win, 2 Top 5s, 5 Top 10s, 45 laps led, 25 lead lap finishes, 931 points back currently 16. WallaceFan posted: 08.19.2008 - 7:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Keselowski is driving a "JR Motorsports" car. no, Brad Keselowski is driving a Hendrick car, he has the best equipment in the garage. Steve is driving a car thats not so good, he turned 21 yesterday, and he is improving a whole lot. Yes as of now Keselowski has better stats, but he is 4 years older. Lets just cut the crap and wait this one out, ok? 17. New88fan posted: 08.19.2008 - 8:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "his head is as big as his overbite" That's a new one. While Steve Wallace has caused his share of wrecks, this time I believe it was just bad luck.He did not blame Bobby Hamilton Jr. or anyone else in his interview,in fact I think he was more mad at himself than anything. As for the Gibbs teams getting caught cheating,Nascar needs to take the same approach here as they've done in the Cup series with the COT.Penalizing them money doesn't mean anything, but taking away 150-200 in owner's points should help NASCAR get their point across. 18. Ambrose_fan posted: 08.19.2008 - 9:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Regarding penalties for JGR, I think they should deduct drivers points as well. If a JGR driver has been using illegal equipment, then he is hurting the championship hopes of other drivers. It's not like it bothers Kyle or Tony, because they aren't racing for points, but I'm sure Wallace, Leffler and Ambrose find it a bit unfair to have someone who has being using illegal equipment above them in points. 19. Baker posted: 08.20.2008 - 12:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Why should they take driver points away from Kyle Busch? He wasn't even driving the car this weekend. It was Joey Logano. The drivers had nothing to do with it anyway. I understand docking them points, but NASCAR put both Logano and Stewart on probation until DEC. 31st which is BS. Indefinitley...does this mean the rest of the year, their careers, or what? Can Dave Rogers still go to cup since his infraction was in Nationwide? I was hoping he would go with Stewart-Haas to cup next year with Darian Grubb going to Newman's car. 20. Dodge posted: 08.20.2008 - 3:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I believe that means that those individuals that were suspended CAN NOT SHOW UP EVEN IN THE CUP OR TRUCK GARAGES OR IF THE SUSPENSIONS LAST TILL NEXT YEAR, THE TEST AT DAYTONA. I thought that is what I heard from times before. 21. Ambrose_fan posted: 08.21.2008 - 4:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sorry Baker, I forgot that Busch wasn't driving at this race. DaleSrFanForever posted: 08.21.2008 - 4:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree WallaceFan, driver points mean nothing to those drivers on the Nationwide side, and 150 is too light. This was so blatant, I would be in favor of doing something like they did to Junior Johnson in the early 90's. Ban car #18 and #20 from the next four races. Let them run cars with different numbers with the scheduled drivers for sponsorship reasons, but make those owner points go to different "owners" like they did with Junior. I do want to commend Joe Gibbs himself for his classy reaction to this. He took full responsibility for the actions of his employees, admitted it was a blatent attempt to cheat, and apologized to everyone. I guarantee you he knew nothing of this. This isn't like HMS on their many times getting caught, saying "we were just trying to push the envelope" or "we were trying to expand the gray areas". They could learn a lot from Joe. 24. Willy on Wheels posted: 08.21.2008 - 7:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) They should ban Stewart and Logano from the next 3 Truck, Busch, and Cup races, suspend the crews and crew chief for the remainder of the season, and force Gibbs to use different numbers and have the owner points go to new teams for the next 4 races, the same way they did it with Geff Bodine in 1991 25. Baker posted: 08.21.2008 - 10:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yeah because Logano and Stewart had everything to do with their boneheaded crew members trying to cheat. Think again chief. 26. WallaceFan posted: 08.22.2008 - 4:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) No penalties should go to the drivers, this is a team thing, and even if the drivers knew something about it, you cant prove it. Suspend crew cheifs, crew members, fine the owners take away owner points, but no punishment for the drivers. Either way not enough was done. 27. This race would have been the cut-off with the Chase starting at Bristol. 1 Kyle Busch* 5060 2 Carl Edwards 5030 3 Clint Bowyer 5010 4 Brad Keselowski 5010 5 Marcos Ambrose 5010 6 Mike Bliss 5000 7 David Ragan 5000 8 David Reutimann 5000 9 Mike Wallace 5000 10 Jason Leffler 5000 11 Jason Keller 5000 12 David Stremme 5000 13 Steve Wallace** 5000 *Included because he is in top 12, likely will not run Memphis to focus on NSCS title hopes. **I added Wallace to have 12 guys who are assumed to be running all of the last 10 races since Busch likely will skip Memphis. This is just for fun, I calculated the points myself with nothing better to do with my spare time. Just thought I would do this to answer the "What if the Nationwide sereis used the Chase Format in 2008" question for anyone else who had wondered that also. 29. 18fan posted: 09.21.2009 - 11:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) DSFF was almost right, as Bowyer threw most of his point lead away.
